These two I can get all the time, and I love them. Sweetwater Pale Ale if I could get it all the time. I really loved it.

For the most part, I've been able to pick up Psuedo Sue on the shelf for the last few months so I'd go with that.

I lucked out one time at my local grocery store when they had bottles of Grunion in the mix six pack section :astonished: Naturally I bought all 5 they had and another single for $9.99. It was great, but can't see paying the 15.99 they're asking for it at regular price.

Back to the topic at hand. The best Pale Ales that are always on the shelf here are NG Moon Man and 3F Alpha King. Psuedo Sue is around quite a bit as well.

I started drinking sweetwater beers when I was beginning to get into craft beer, so Sweetwater 420 will always have a special place in my heart.

This is a bit tough. Since it's "shelf" only, that excludes Zombie Dust and Alpha King, not to mention all the debate about whether they're technically APAs anyway. I was actually really impressed with Port Lawerence's Freshchester. I can't get it here, but it seems easy enough to get in NY. My local, Maumee Bay, also does an excellent one that reminds me of Great Divide's Fresh Hop Pale Ale, one of my favorites. They very seldom and sporadically make one called Summit St. that reminds me of Daisy Cutter, which would top my list if I could get it. Also up there are trusty SNPA and Great Lakes Burning River.

I mean... PseudoSue is sort of a "shelf beer" these days, isn't it? Not that I can go pick it up off the shelf since I don't live in Iowa, but it seems like it's fairly available now that they are putting it in 12 oz bottles.

If that one counts, that's my answer. But since it probably doesn't, these would be my backups:

    Odd Side CPA
    Odell St. Lupulin
    FW Pale 31

I would include Dale's but hasn't the brewer said it's actually an IPA that they named it that way because it sounded better? An ABV of 6.5% and 65 IBUs seem pretty squarely in the IPA category.

As much as I love Grunion, I do get tired of the vegetal flavors when drinking a bunch.

A staple for me that I always have loved is Troegs Pale Ale. Underrated and overlooked. It's really good.

I really wish we could get Daisy Cutter on a regular basis, I would have it on draft at home too.
