Glad to see more succession options alternative to selling to a bigger company. Bonus for rewarding longtime employees.

Hopefully the new owners don't do what Dick Cantwell's old partners did.

Pike..i had forgotten about them but 12 or so years ago when i started here they were one of my favourites.
I am sure they still sell a lot of beer..but its strange how older craft brewers like Pike can be left behind..Hales is another

I'll actually visit Hales from time to time since I live in North Seattle and can easily get there. And I think Supergoose is seriously underrated.

I don't know if I've ever been to Pike. I hate going downtown. Their Space Needle Anniversary IPA is pretty good, though.

If I'm downtown for a show at The Showbox, I usually swing into Pike. It's right across the street, the food's good, and there's generally something interesting on tap.

I repeat everything distandmantra says. Supergoose was my go to beer when I wanted something really good but haven't had it for a long time. Somehow, it's gotten lost in the shuffle of great Northwest beers.

I agree as well. Hales flamed out in Silverdale but are planning a brewpub in Bremerton. Look forward to visiting them soon.

They had a place in Silverdale? I never knew that.

There's some old timers around town that remember when Hale's was the local brewery that everyone loved (back when they trucked the beer across the pass to what was then just their pub in Seattle - before my time here), but to most people it's a distant memory. Got to agree with others about Supergoose, though. Pretty much the only Hale's brew I drink these days.

Is it closed now? Here's the news when it was announced (6 years ago!?!:grimacing:): http://www.washingtonbeerblog.com/move-over-silver-city-new-brew-pub-coming-silverdale/

That would be the mall parking lot. Haven't seen a lot of bewpubs succeed when they are located in the same complex as Hot Topic and Victoria's Secret.

It was an odd choice to locate there.

    Various Rams? Especially Northgate?

The Kitsap Mall is no Northgate.

Well, my next visit to Silverdale will be my first - not counting weekend Kitsap peninsula excursions with the parentals when I was 5 and we lived in Puyallup - so I think you can excuse my lack of knowledge of the town's beer scene. I'd just never heard of any Hale's location besides the one in Fre-lard.
