Was just curious how trends seem to be going...when i joined BA, Troegs Nugget Nectar seemed to be top tier talked about, now i never see it mentioned (i know its not a year round)

Same goes for Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout. It was seen everywhere here.

Since you joined BA, what beers do you remember being very popular, but then just disappeared?

Nugget Nectar comes out in late fall/early winter, so it hasn't been talked about recently because it hasn't been around at all. Same goes for SMS, it came out in the early spring and it is unknown whether it will be a seasonal release or a one-time offering.

When I registered on BA in 2009, Westy 12 and Pliny the Elder were #1 and #2--now #8 & #10, respectively. I think PTY was #3. Now, the Top 25 is dominated by Vermont beers with regional distribution that weren't on the radar a few short years ago. Either this is a coup d'etat by the residents and brewers in VT, or I need to get my self up to Bob Newhart's Inn and stay for a while...

    Lagunitas Sucks.

Was all the buzz, and now year round, has lost its conversational luster. Think that is the case with all, as they become more readily available. I buy Sucks constantly. Still put it has one of the highest standards.

Don't really remember, but I can agree with some of the one's mentioned above. When I looked at the title of this thread, I was thinking something totally different, I guess more personal. Like beers I could not get anymore in Utah, when I stopped trading, and that was a FUCKN' LOT! Utah and it's fucked up laws.

    Cheers!

Maybe they should have canned it for brewery-only releases .

I remember doing some work to get Nugget Nectar back in 2007-2008. It was good but not so widely available.

Other beers which were more highly regarded in 2004-2006 include Storm King, Dark Lord, Breakfast Stout, Liberator, Stone IRS (!), Cadillac Mountain, and Peche Mortel. I seem to mainly remember the heavier beers I guess...

I remember here in CT back in '10 (when I turned 21 and signed up to BA) it was all about fresh Finest Kind IPA from Smutty. Over the past few years CT breweries have kicked it up many notches and now there's also a lot of VT beers to steal the show, too.

I haven't seen any talk in these threads about Kate the Great for a couple years. Do they still brew it?

Hop Devil is still one of my favorite IPAs. Storm King though....that has a waiting list of five years before I enjoy it again. (fresh it's like a "Black IPA"...which I Abhor).
