I think Beer + any music other than contemporary pop = Fitting. However, I wouldn't want to hear Vulgar Display of Power in the setting of an English country pub or a German Biergarten. What am I talking about, of course I would!

Love Agalloch...bought Ashes Against the Grain on CD for $1 & have been hooked ever since. Another score from the $1 bin, unreal.

I had been really getting into Amon Amarth when I stopped by Three Floyds on a road trip, where they happened to be playing the ENTIRE With Odin on our Side album. It was a magical experience.

I should add, the music was so fucking loud I couldn't hear my friends... and I didn't care.

When i get off work today....after a double shift at 8pm. Im going to sit outside, maybe light a bonfire and enjoy a barleywine or three while blasting Korpiklaani. I don't care if my neighbors dont like it!

We CANNOT have a conversation about beer and metal without mentioning Red Fang's music video for "Prehistoric Dog."

    MUST watch!

I just saw them live at a local brewpub/club a few months ago. Awesome show with some good beer to match. And to the person who said they were "mainstream", there were like fifty people at the show. Great band but they're hardly mainstream by any measure.

The words Agalloch and mainstream together in a sentence simply does not compute..

August Burns Red is solid metal core. Like Parkway Drive, Asking Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon.

If you don't like the subgenre that's fine, but you can't say a band sucks when you don't like the subgenre in the first place. If I said all country musicians suck but I didn't like country then I wouldn't have any place to say that.

Somehow I'm just now seeing this thread and had to comment. Blasting sXe whilst downing some brews is one of my favorite things to do. It's never premeditated, but after my 2nd beer or so, Youth of Today or the like nearly always makes the playlist. I was fortunate to see both AF and 25 ta Life in Chicago this year, at different times of course.

Frightmare respect. That late 90's through late 2000's Razorback Records catalog is arguable my favorite era of metal.
