Just picked up a bottle in Colorado for $19.99. The label is now glued on like a typical label rather than etched in like the previous release. Still 12.9% abv.

Chris Quinn mentioned this on the Beer Temple Round Table podcast and that the MSRP was $10.

Thats weird. Right next to it on the shelf was Velvet Merkin which was at MSRP, $16.99.
Barrel Aged Narwhal was around 20$ last year too I believe.

Had it on draft over the weekend, it is fantastic, great notes of chocolate, bitter espresso, dark fruit, oak, bourbon, vanilla, I could go on and on. $7 / 10.5oz, have seen the bottles released as well $19.99 / 750ml just like last year, though the label is no longer printed on, it is just a standard glued on label. Oh well, still fantastic beer, I'll be grabbing a couple of bottles for sure.

It was $18+ last year in CT. $10 for a 750ml bottle of BA stout would be ridiculously low priced. Think you're thinking of regular narwhal which is ~$10 a 4 pack.

This would be impossible, I'm paying more than $10 a bottle from the distributor...unless your local bottle shop is in the business of losing money

Picked up 4 bottles at $19.49 each, passed on the BA Ovila next to it at the same price.

I'm happy to see it wasn't just a one-off. If the price is the same as it was last year I may pass, especially given the label (not that the label is an issue, but you know the production cost is WAY down from last year if they didn't spring for the screen-printing). I had my '14 on New Year's Even and really enjoyed it. Great beer.

His point was comparing SN to Bourbon County prices. Maybe it's a Chicago thing.

I want to try it, but at $19/each I might have to pass. There's a lot of other good beers in the price range.

Sweet! Will pick up one of these plus a 4-pack of reg. Narwhal too. When they first released it last year, was able to pick up a few at $14.99 before they got wise and jacked up the price to $20...

i'll definitely be grabbing the BA Narwhal this year..was a bit tough to come by on first go around, but after the initial hype, this became an easy score in the NYC area..picked up a bottle as recently as early august

Grabbing one of these this week - curious everyone's thoughts about drinking fresh vs. aging. I tend to like BA stouts fresh until they get around Uncle Jacob's level ABV. Something as as high as BCBS at just under 14% is still something I like fresh but just wondering what everyone else thinks the sweet spot is for BA Narwhal. Cheers!

It has less alcohol heat compared to BCBS imo, I'd just drink it fresh tbh (which is what I did).
