Founders Breakfast Stout 2015

I actually thought this years was a little better than years past. Huge chocolate and coffee and that incredible creamy mouthfeel that brings it all together.

 

I have to disagree as well. Finished the 4 pack in one night - fantastic beer

 

I also think this year is a bit better. The bottles I had last year had a bit too much metallic flavor.

 

Didn't these "X beer isn't as good this year" threads get outlawed at some point?

For myself it is so incredibly hard to exactly remember a beer a year later not to mention just how subjective my own taste buds are day to day. In my opinion I find this year's to be the best batch yet I have had fresh. Just seems a tad less bitter than I remember it from previous years and the chocolate and coffee profile just comes across richer now. In the past I would actually buy it and sit on it for a month or more before I remember it tasting as good as this year's is drinking fresh.

 

Just picked up another 4 pack. Mmmmmm

 

I don't have Robert Parker's palate, so it's very tough for me to say if something is better or worse from an entire year ago.
I will say though, my reaction to my first Breakfast Stout this year was "This is even better than I remember!" Not saying whether it's better than last year, my tastebuds have changed, or my memory sucks, but I definitely have no issues with this year's version

 

Dammit - when do we get some?.... Frustrated in Colorado. :l

 

I enjoyed 2 at my buddy's wedding last weekend- Fantastic as always it seemed.

 

This stuff comes up often and most people's taste buds change, not the beer. These brewers are very good at replicating the recipe year after year. I think this year's is awesome as always.

 

I generally agree re: the difficulty of year-to-year comparisons, but I definitely thought last year was a step below others. I gave it multiple chances, and was unimpressed each time - I think @hopsputin is dead on about the metallic taste - and this is a beer I normally drink a ton of while it's in season.

Seems back to normal this year, so all is well - I think I'm on my 3rd four pack of the season.

 

Had this on tap last night..as delicious as ever

 

I've had six bottles thus far with no complaints and plan to buy at least 2-3 more 4 packs before we even get into November.

 

Sure would like to be able to obtain some to give an opinion...

 

This years batch has been delicious. It's great to be able to buy a great 4 pack for $10, and not have to go on any kind of beer chase.

 

@mterry00 You probably had it too cold. Try it more around room temp. Seriously.

 

This beer is so good this year it's a crime.
