What beer are you drinking now? #1097

Woke up at 3:00 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep, so might as well have a stout! Someone sent this Beelzebub from The Alchemist to me as an extra some time ago, don't remember who, but thank you! Smooth and very roasty. This is an impressive stout from a brewer best known for its hoppy stuff. For those of you who slept, good morning BAs!

I lucked out and recently picked up some "basic" 3F brews....do not remember the last time I had 3 of their beers "in the house" at the same time....going to be a good day!

Good morning BAs! Today's New Beer Breakfast:



In general, not a fan of amber/red ales, but this one is pretty tasty! Smells like a locker room, in a good way.

 

Great start to a gloomy fall day. This Expedition Stout has aged nicely over the past year.

Friend of mine had a grand opening party for his new craft beer bar last night. Best bottle share I've been to so far.

Cornstalker Dark Wheat

Appearance : Wow. Pours way darker than I thought it would. Dark chocolate color with 100% opacity. The head starts out 2 fingers and then recedes to a small ring.

Smell : Cocoa malts, karo syrup, barley wort, some slight hop, and a little bit of coca-cola. The semi-sweet aroma is inviting.

Taste : The dark malts come out right away, with lots of toasted flavor, and a delicious french roast coffee taste rushes in. A bitter sting of hop finishes out the tail end of the coffee flavor, giving it the impression of a chewed bean. Impressive.

Feel : Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation, a slightly pasty semi-dry, roasted finish.

Overall : Creative, interesting, unique. I'd have it again.
