Huh. I thought the Seven Seals series were brewery only. Guess not?

Solemn Oath is a decent brewery that doesn't get a lot of hype or interest on this site... Their track record is fine but they haven't released anything special enough to put them on the beer nerd map. Until they do, the Chicago market and the surrounding burbs are so saturated with good beer that it's hard to bother with a special trip out to Naperville. Cool if you live close by, though.

Yeah, I'm somewhat confused..Conquest came out a couple months ago and was brewery only and required a ticket. Plus, I'm almost positive Pernicieux has previously been released in bottles before available at the taproom and around town.

I dont see much love for Solemn Oath on here...which is a shame. Maybe its because they dont put out hop bomb after hop bomb. I honestly think that they are one of the most creative and outside the box breweries going in the chicagoland area and am excited to see what they roll out barrel aged wise all winter (they have been hinting at a bunch of stuff on their twitter). I love what they are doing there and the taproom is absolutely one of my favorite places (always have awesome tunes playing). Maybe i am biased because i live so close now but whatever...place rules.

I see that they have the barrels in the place across the lot from the tap room. For a long time, I questioned their idea of putting the tap room in a very hard to find corner of a not so easy to find location. Now I wonder if they have a master plan to acquire multiple spots within that park until it is all theirs.

You'd be surprised at how many well known breweries are in hard to find corners of bland industrial parks.

It's funny -- every time I go to a new one I try to guess whether it will be a stand-alone facility, in an industrial park or in a strip mall (ala O'so). I'm almost always wrong.
