    Pacific Gravity

    Lemon yellow. White foam. Chill haze then clear. Nose is candied lemon peel. Citrusy. Light tropical notes. Soft sugary malt , a bit of sweetness from alcohol. A mouthfeel that's tricky. Delicate tropical flavor backed by herbal for hops. Really light and quenching. Very strong bitterness in this one cleanses the palate and leaves grapefruit rind and a bit of spice to linger.

    So far the three beers I have tasted form Ithaca's 2015 Box of Hops are each well defined, attuned to the flow of the drink and tastefully well done. Each has had similar flavors but each has been presented as unique. For some reason the freshest flower power I get is in the Box of Hops. One of the reasons an IPA or DIPA can excel in mouthfeel is by having no diacetyl. So far 3 for 3 from Ithaca are clean crisp and higher abv. The word is drinkable.

    This has body but glides softly. The alcohol presence makes up a good portion of the mouthfeel. Really sports the more delicate tropical and spice flavors of the hops. Then to quote the guidelines " dry sensation in the presence of malt sweetness." Meticulous and outstanding.

    Are you only drinking one of those a day out of your box of hops?!?! Showing a lot of grace and restraintI would have drank them all the same day :flushed:

    Morning BA's Le Bilboquet's Peau D'ours IPA this morning, 5 percent feels a little low for the part and it doesnt smell particularly strong, slight floral and pine hops but its very slight, has tons of carbonation and the head sticks around but in all honesty, that seems like the best part, cheers![​IMG]
