Alesmith - Bottle Releases

I wouldn't consider someone to be stupid for thinking a barrel-aged version of this beer is even more desirable.

I've noticed a humorous phenomenon among the more seasoned beer geeks where they will criticize everyone else for jumping on the "hype train" etc.. for the very same releases they are in for. My favorite was when someone was posting from the line for Citra Showers (I think it was that one) and complaining that the other people in line were just a bunch of "citra fan boys". This was from someone who was in line for the same beer.

You complain a lot about how annoying newbies are at craft events etc, but I would say the "I remember when..." types on this site are just as annoying.

Someone should make tv show about Beer Advocate. Catchy could be played by this guy

 

This release is tearing us apart!!! Someone tell Alesmith to dump all the Hawaiian Speedway for the sake of the Pacific BAs!

This thread has gone seriously off topic. Anyhow... stopped by the new tasting room today and it was spectacular. Picked up a few BA Decadence and Old Numbskull. The tap tasters were good, enjoyed the Numbskull a lot, the Decadence will be better with some more bottle time.

 

I did try the new Speedway. Liked the fact it was on Nitro, but that coffee was too earthy/spicy for this beer. Maybe I'm just too used to Ryan Bros. beans.

 

Makes me sad by the time I found out I'll be in San Diego the 14th-15th, bottles sales ended . Are they selling the remaining bottles(BA Numbskull) out of the tap room?

And so we have the partner for the Hawaiian Speedway. That sale is going to be one incredible shit show on BPT.

 

Very well could break the BPT Servers finally.

 

Maybe it would be easier for the servers and us locals if they would put them on sale for 2 hours for locals (no proxies). Then after 2 hours, allow sales for people who need proxies. Might have to be two separate bpt events, but it there would be less people logging on at once. That would limit the amount of people who lose items from their cart..... and would help faithful locals to order beer. It would also help out people who don't have the fastest Internet or are buying while on cell phones.

 

Allowing a person to proxy for only one other person is already a decent improvement.

 

They didn't need that for the last sale (many remaining bottles), so I wonder if they were getting that in place for this release. It would be cool to see them do the VIP thing again, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Butterfinger sounds amazing.. for those that have done this before, is 3 laps in one day too much? Figure the taste buds would be shot after 2.
