What are these release days like? I'd definitely consider dropping in on Sunday for some cans after watching JT Barrett continue to return us to national prominence the night before.

Some of the regular attendees can likely provide you with a better response, but from what I've read, folks that get to experience Hoof Hearted in person almost always leave smiling and satisfied.

It's basically a bunch of people sitting around outside in the parking area and inside the brewery/barn. It's really chill. Expect to wait 5-10min per drink in line during peak times, so grab extras when you get up there if you plan to drink a few. You can bring chairs and tailgate or whatever, at Blabe they had barrel fires to keep warm if you wanted. Good time all around.

This past weekend we showed up at 12:20 and left at 6:30pm... You can easily make a day out of it! lol

Awesome, thanks for the info. If the wife and I don't go crazy and burn ourselves out on Saturday (unlikely ) we'll have to make this happen. So many things to look forward to for my first OSU home game!

Dragonsaddle is my very favorite beer in the world, but it needs to be handled with care, too many and you do some serious time traveling.

If you're driving through Columbus, where are the best places to find Hoof Hearted beer? Like will their staples be readily available in bottle shops or would I have to stop somewhere specific? Just interested in getting my hands on anything by them

The ameristop in Lancaster had it because they went up to Marengo to get the cans I think they have 3 varieties(Dong,Musk, and S of 11). Hardly any cans even make disto anymore. They sell out the cans at the brewery for the most part. A lot of bottle shops in columbus want their stuff. The following gets bigger and bigger everytime I go up to Marengo on my 35 minute journey. Kegs of their stuff get around... check the daily growler locations, pies and pints easton, sometimes Brass Tap in Polaris, Savor Growl, The Crest(2 locations), and even local roots in powell gets their beer every once in a while.

Growl on High normally has their beer on draft, as well. The Columbus brewpub will dramatically expand their production. It'll have a 10-barrel brewhouse and up to five 20-barrel fermenters. Their exisiting place in Marengo has a seven-barrel brewhouse and three seven-barrel fermenters.

New batch of Roller Blabe is bad. Diacetyl. Very strange aromas, and basically a totally different beer than the last batch.

Just had my third can of Blabe I bought at last canning and it was wonderful. No sign at all of diacetyl.

I drank two blabes last night and I didn't pick up any diacetyl at all. The thing f'ing rocked.

For anyone interested this latest batch of Blabe was brewed with 2015 whole leaf hops and not pellets (like most batches of HH IPAs). This resulted in a less hazy batch. The exact same yeast was used as in previous batches (Conan) and the same filtering methods were used. As far as Diacetyl goes, I'm pretty good at picking up that off flavor and I can't taste it whatsoever in the this Blabe can I'm currently drinking. Weird.

I swung by the open taproom today. I have not been able to make any of the cannings, so I was excited for this opportunity. The trip did not disappoint. Great beer, friendly staff, laid back atmosphere. I'm a big fan and looking forward to more.

I had noticed a vastly different appearance from the previous canning, so I appreciate the info.

Huh, that's odd. Had cans at the brewery and didn't get any off flavors and I've had several cans since the release and haven't picked up off flavors. Just an awesome tasting beer.

Thanks for the info! I had no idea that whole leaf vs pellet hops contributed that much to the appearance of the beer. Pretty cool. Cheers!
