Samuel Adams Winter Classics Variety (2015)

    Hi guys,

    I know everyone isn't a fan of SA/BBC, but they revamped their Winter Classics variety 12 pack and it's starting to hit distro. After seeing some check ins of their new Sparkling Ale, I did some investigating and found a pic of the 12 pack. It has thankfully returned to 6 different beers, with 2 of each, as follows:
    Chocolate Bock
    Old Fezziwig Ale
    Sparkling Ale
    Holiday Porter
    Winter Lager
    Boston Lager

    I am glad to see Holiday Porter return and Chocolate Bock be in the 12 pack rather than the 24 pack like last year. After being disappointed with last year having 4 Winter Lagers and 4 White Christmas's, this is a nice change of pace. I haven't actually been able to find this yet, so I'm not sure about Sparkling, but overall I'll definitely be picking more than one of these up. Only wish they had included their Dunkelweizen in their fall 12 packs instead of just 24 packs, but winter is just around the corner.

    Very glad to see Holiday Porter return! This is much improved over last year. Will definitely pick this up.

    Old Fezziwig and the Holiday Porter are two of my favorite winter beers. Sad to see White Christmas isn't making a return as that beer was surprisingly great in my opinion.

    I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it still came out, but just not in the variety pack. They had Pumpkin Batch separate from the fall variety. I think they like to have a seasonal Belgian to compete directly with the Blue Moon/Shocktop crowd.

    What is sparkling ale? I haven't picked up their variety packs in a while. This pack looks much better, so I'll probably pick it up.

    Better than last year IMO. Although I'd gladly take 6 Fezziwigs, 6 Porters!

    Nice, makes my dissatisfaction with Snowpack not sting so much. I'll be grabbing this.

    Please no, That's not a headache I can bear :wink:.

    Get Morgan Freeman instead.

    Back on topic, am I the only one who does not care for the winter lager?

    Glad to see Holiday Porter and Chocolate Bock back in the mix. Hopefully Fezziwig is revamped a bit this year. Tasted a lot different last year from others imo.

    Wish it had cranberry lambic, but this still sounds worth picking up. Love old fezziwig.

    Me, too. Should be about 12.99 at our grocery. I'm game. Nobody answered about the Sparkling Ale. I tried Sammy's site, and no mention yet. Champagne yeast, maybe? Bubbles up the nose?
