I'm always looking for beers to add to my "to-try" list. What are some of your favorite beers that can best be described as "well balanced." In other words, with a good balance between that malty smoothness and a hoppy bitterness, and whatever else my be going on there. They can be of any style.

If a balanced IPA is truly possible, i vote for SN Celebration: just now coming out.

I think it's possible. Two Hearted is so loved for that reason.

SoS is probably the most well-balanced beer I've ever had. If you can get some, godspeed.

For me, the most balanced beer is Pilsner Urquell or Landlord Pale Ale.

BAOR is by far one of my favorite barrel aged stouts, incredibly well balanced especially with a year on it. The biggest down side, or least balanced part of it, is the price :slight_frown:

    Most recently:

    Troegs Pale Ale
    21st Amendment Toaster Pastry
Sierra Nevada anything by them honestly but most recent id say their pale ale, kolsch and Vienna lager.
    Otter Creek Couch Surfer.

I think Stone Smoked Porter is a nice balance of bitter, sweet, and smoky.
GLBC Dortmunder Gold and Burning River are both really well balanced too.

For me its Konig Pilsener, from Germany. That beer has everything, a nice cereal malt presence, rounded out by nice floral hops that make their presence known but don't overwhelm. A beer with flavor that also is very drinkable. Perfect balance IMO.

    Bell's Two Hearted Ale.
    Troeg's Nugget Nectar.
Almost any pilsner, but SN Nooner comes to mind first. The constant back and forth trade off of honey-like sweetness and bitter grassy hoppiness from sip to swallow to actually pretty astounding.

Rather than an individual brew, I find the Oktoberfests to be well balanced as a general style.
