An Idea For a New Christmas Tradition

Well, if someone would kindly donate a case of Heady, I'll do my best.

 

Doing a different beer for each day is the way to do it. All the better if they are a surprise, like real advent calendars. Now you just have to find someone to make you one .

Not my idea, but it is pretty cool indeed. I've seen them mentioned on the trading forums around the holidays.

 

That would be way cool! Can be very expensive as well.

I've heard of this and I think it's a cool idea. The problem I would have is drinking a couple weeks worth in one day. I've never been very patient.

 

Way to go! Just make sure you are on your best behavior until it's all sealed up (don't want a box of coal, now ).

 

I agree with previous poster. have someone else load the great beers that you bought and it would be a surprise each day. Sounds like fun to me !!!!

 

I'd still probably want to see what's in there.

 

I discussed this with my buddy a few weeks ago after seeing this picture.
I think we're each going to get 12 bottles without telling the other what they are, then have my girlfriend put them in the calendar. I was going to have her make sure that we didn't double up, but as long as it's good, who cares?

 

I always try to do "The 12 Beers of Christmas." I just make a couple of mixed sixer of holiday themed brews and drink them in the days leading up to Christmas, usually saving something really special for Christmas Day.

 

There are beer shops that sell such things, and Mikkeller has sold one in the past with the 24 surprise beers simply labeled 1-24.

 

Mine would be an advent mixture of dark holiday seasonals, hold the sugar & spice.

 

Cool idea. It should be 24 different beers from the top 250 - make it a big good surprise.

 

GreenBush does this every year and though i have never got one, they look awesome. like a new special release every day

 

Costcos in SoCal have something like this for sale. 24 German canned beers (16.9 oz. cans) in an advent calendar box for $59.99. The box has a lot of beers that I have never heard of and aren't listed on BA.

 

Put in a nice piece of chocolate with each beer!
