Austin is much the same way. It's very much this blend of traditional big trucks and heavy Texas accents but interspersed with lots of Hippies and Hipsters and all kinds of other people. But we all drink a lot and eat some of the best brisket around. (My Virginia upbringing prevents me from referring to brisket as BBQ. BBQ means pulled pork)
I owez some Pr0n. From @Bristopher89 who so graciously offered to send me a beer to do a side by side with the Olde Hickory Lindley Park that @valrxman recently sent me. Oh that @Mipper Thanks again. We are definitely at full capacity for our pumpkin event, though still at less then you this year and way less than we were last year!
I am away for work and was told a box showed up on my door.... if it is me, let me know and I will have my mom open it and put it in the fridge. I will be home thursday!
You're mom should probably put it in the fridge. At least the growler. If she opens the challenge beer, she's going to have to post a video.
Luck of the draw. One of the beers may be in your distro, if so I apologize. I forgot to pick a random name untill I already boxed up everything and didn't want to break it back down.
I have no idea why I didn't use this approach with my dad... he has enjoyed the hell out of BCBS, Backyard Rye, Marshall Zhukov, BA Old Rasputin, Heady, Pliny, and god knows how many other IPAs.... He surely owes me some muling by now, right?
Is anyone on here ISO: The Shape of Hops to Come by Nesh Creek? Just asking, my store got some in. If anyone has been searching I can send out a couple cans.
Has there been any consideration for the format of our next round? I think a *days of* format would be good for around Christmas time. Hopefully some thought would be given to seasonal timing in terms of bottle counts...
Usually "Days of" BIF's are run as stand-alone entities. The Locals T'giving 6'er isn't the normal type of round. While they're fun, they're also more work and pressure to make sure each day is up to snuff. Just a word of caution if the group is leaning towards that format. Personally, I think a different twist might be fun - more swag specific boxes (match "X" pieces of swag w/ bottles/cans from same brewery), In-State only boxes, style specific boxes, etc... Discuss.
