Got to hit up Fat Heads; it's the best Pittsburgh brewery ever.

Did you copy and paste this from the previous request? :stuck_out_tongue: Can't we pin it somehow?

In all honesty, here is my list solely based on quality of beer...erroneous to atmosphere and all that other happy horseshit that gets factored in. I don't care about any of it other than the beer.

    1. Voodoo (one of the premier barrel programs in the country)
    2. Brew Gentleman (very good across the board)
    3. Helltown (for great hoppy beers...when they are on and you can find them)
    4. Roundabout (for great lagers and solid IPAs)
    5. Draai Laag (for creativity and thinking outside the box)
    6. East End (for Gratitude and that alone)
    everyone else

At this point, there are only a handful that I haven't had at least something from and aside from these aforementioned, no one has done anything to differentiate them from the rest of the pack.

    Not a Pittsburgh brewery.

It looks like Tabelog is a hot site.........oh wait. Either that or it is a site that nobody reads and it will go away in due time.

The world doesn't need another click bait, buzzfeed et al. site that offers no original content and lists "Top 10's" as a click through instead of an actual list, so they get page clicks.

    but you included them here:

I thought your second list was just an elaboration of the first, but I guess it's a list in answer to a different question?

It's at least brewed in the damn state. 90 minutes up the road is close enough. If you want to get really technical, then you can take Brew Gentleman off the list too. Their mailing address is Braddock.

I'd sooner remove the Mt Pleasant brewery actually...

90 Minutes is quite a stretch. By that logic, Bells, New Holland, Oddside and Arcadia are all Grand Rapids Breweries.

And then answered again, with a different list...which I took to be a more detailed version of the first...that all of a sudden omitted fat heads.

I'm bowing out due to confusion.

Voodoo isn't close enough for me to consider them Pittsburgh, nor Helltown in Mount Pleasant. Braddock may not be in Pittsburgh proper, but it's widely acknowledged as a suburb of the city. Meadville is 90 miles away. Morgantown is closer... Not that you'd put any of their breweries on any best list, but that's not the point in this instance.

If we're only talking breweries, my own list would be pretty similar, though I would swap something else for #6. This could be a byproduct of my geography, or that I favor hoppy over barrel aged.

If we're talking a list of top places for visitors to visit, it would look a lot different, but I think you were gunning for the former, not the latter.

Loathe the click-throughs--especially when every ad is shaped like a "next" arrow. Fuckers.

The first three are my top for recommendations for anyone visiting as well, but I usually do a slash with FH/Pipers.

I'm excited to checkout Voodoo Homestead when I visit Pittsburgh this Friday. I haven't had much of their beer during my other visits, so that's going to be great. I also always look out for Helltown. Their Idle Hands ranks up with a lot of the juicy DIPAs I've had.

You might as well check out Brew Gentlemen, which is at most a 10 minute drive from Voodoo's Homestead location.
