Good morning fine folks focused on all things new and beer related! I hope this message finds you enjoying yet another Sunday fit for all the wonderment that new beers can provide. Weather in Central OH is amazingly fall-like. After a painfully hot summer it's been nice to get some low humidity and mid-70 degree temps. Getting me ready for the fall seasonals which seem to be hitting the shelves regardless of the temperature or date on the calendar. I did enjoy my first Sierra Nevada Tumbler of the season on Friday and it was delicious. Nice cocoa powder notes with all the hoppy goodness that I come to expect from SN beers. I did kind of have a problem with my local Kroger displaying Thirsty Dog's Christmas Ale. I'm all for drink what you want when you want but that seemed to be a little too early even for my tastes. Today is the day to drink whatever sounds good to you and TELL us about it. Please post your linked review, a very good description of what you've sampled, and (if you're really cool) a picture of your new beer. Thanks for following this simple format and for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun. Peace, love, and malty-ness, Matt
***New English Bitter Sunday!!! Greetings all. My new beer review: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16419/56734/?ba=Bitterbill If only it tasted as good as it smells. Never mind, I still dig it.
New Spiced Beer Sunday Guess I'll kick things off with this nice MI beer. Cheers! http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/9629/17910/?ba=mattcrill
Thanks but how about actually reviewing the beer and giving us a description or linked review. Thanks,
Greetings fellow NBSers! A very warm and sunny weekend here in the Fourth Corner. I babysat my friends 130lb Mastiff/Rottweiller mix again this weekend and had several nice walks. That dog attracts more attention from the ladies than any dog I ever seen. I'm going to babysit more often. We had a nice walk and stopped off for bagels, which I had with this nice wheat that I received from WoodyChandler: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18724/46461 . A nice, crisp take on the style. I've got a bunch of reviews to catch up on and I'll post another NBS brew in few minutes. Cheers and Happy Birthday to the late, great Buck Owens.
Been watching these threads for awhile now. Slow day at the bottleshop so I figured I'd play along. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/192/83920/?ba=libbey A very successful collaboration in my opinion. Untitled by mateolibbeysi5, on Flickr Cheers!
Since I'm sitting in one of my locals, using their wifi, I figured it would be rude to not have a brew (or 2). Shockingly they had a new brew for me, so here's an almost stereotypical example of a Northwest IPA: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16289/73033
Rye Ale Have a couple of local beers new to me today. Maybe I should not of ignored it for so long. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23016/72442/?ba=morimech
Here, I'll help you out: DAAMN, Yo G! Dis brew wuz so good it left me speachless! Friendly tip, we share what's going here on NBS. Save the pointless masturbation for other threads. Cheers!
And a nice Pale Ale I had earlier today, thanks to woodychandler: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18724/46462
Having great divides dopplebock. Fantastic! I'm very happy I tried this beer, going to pick it up again before it dissapears for a bit.
>>>>>> New Vegetable Beer <<<<<< They are calling this a bock, but anything that has this much beet flavor, yes that's right, the red vegetable your mother made you eat, well it's a vegetable beer in my book. And not a very good vegetable beer, if there is such a thing, or a very good beer at all for that matter. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/700/83742 I pride myself on never having done a drain pour on a bottle of beer. I just don't think it is something I should do out of respect for the brewer. But this one was close. I never would have bought a beet flavored beer if it had nnot been a part of this special 12 Beers of the Apocalypse series. So they got me on this one, but it easily the worst of the 7 so far. For what it's worth the March edition is the best so far. Dog days of summer here in eastern Washington. Temps in the mid to upper 90's, hot dry and dusty. Kind of makes a fella look forward to fall.
New chili beer Great summer Sunday in West Michigan. Partly cloudy to overcast skies with highs in the upper 70's made for a nice afternoon at the minor league ballpark with the family. Also a wonderful day for this fine brew from DFH. Taking a temporary break from NBS beers from the Mitten State. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10099/41702/?ba=GRPunk
*** New India Pale Lager *** Greetings NBS. Another late chck in for me after a great day and weekend taking care of things around the house and enjoying some excellent food. It was a beautiful day here in Southern CT and this great beer from Jack's Abby was a great cap. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26520/71820/?ba=CHADMC3
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/14598/65770 First time I've had it, though not my first Dead Frog experience. Slightly too sweet and not quite enough bitterness for me. Still pretty good though.
Happy NBS to all and Congratulations to Team USA for all of their efforts and accomplishments in London 2012. While watching all the excitement of London 2012 today I've been drinking this beer... Altenmünster Festbier
