Bummer. I have a friend heading over and was hoping he'd be able to get some bottles. At least he can try them on tap.

Feel like 002 is about as good as a regular Berliner could be.

surprised people expect these to have trading value. It's a plain ass Berliner Weiss... who would trade for that?

IMO the Berliner (002) is the star of the show though both are solid. It's a good time to come in for a taste, things are dying down and the line for a drink is reasonable.

Great release beachwood. Left the house at 1015 and was back home with 6 bottles before 1130. The line looked daunting when I got there but ticketing and splitting up the lines for tasting room vs bottles only was great.

Much respect to Gabe and Julian as both were working the bottle pick-up line at different times.

While I understand what you're saying, not sure it's a great comparison. In today's craft beer market, the Berliner Weiss is basically a vehicle for fruit additions. I have never seen any demand for a Berliner that did not have fruit in it.

As a person out of the trading game, the value here is that of following the history of the brewery. it's a bit of gamble, for sure, but if the Blendery lives up to expectations it will be nice to have tasted the progression...

... not to mention all the beer hipster points you'll win with,"I've been drinking this beer since batch 1." And let's face it, the trading game is at least 50% that.

West Coast traders just suck at managing demand. Tomorrow there will be 15 FTs up looking for Dark Lord or something equally stupid. Meanwhile, Treehouse or Other Half will release an IPA that people will give up FO for.

... And Galaxy Showers will sit on shelves.

Would OP please ask a mod to correct the spelling in the thread title? It's making me kind of nuts.

When caught (notice not IF, but when) you are booted from getting the release before everybody else. You can get back in line but the very very very back. 0 fucks are given.

Got there around 10:15. Initially a little scared by a line that went around a corner and then down a block. Beachwood employees were walking down the line handing out free donut holes. Also walking down the line explaining how things were going to work, assuring everyone in line at that point that they were going to be able to secure bottles. They even had little printed out release info flyers. I think around 10:30 they went down the line and handed out little slips of paper with 001 and 002 on them. Six slips (3 for each) total if u wanted to max allotment. They were limiting it to 75 people in the brewpub, so people could wait or go to the alley for bottles only. I went alley and was back in my car with my allotment by 11:20. As I walked out of the alley around 11:15 there were probably about 15-20 people in line waiting for bottle pickups only, while the line to get into the Blendery seemed still pretty long. While picking up the bottles the staff was very nice, asking a lot of us what time we'd gotten in line to try and get a sense of how things were moving.

Oh, and as long as you got a slip, you could do whatever you wanted for the day, as long as you made it back to pick up the bottles by 3:30.

Great release showed up at 2 no line got 1 of each that's all I needed. Berliner was great. Did see a couple people with cases of it on their table.

    so how's the saison?

Saison didn't do too much for me. I'm not huge on the style though, a 'session' Saison even less so. Wish it was a bit more tart leaning.

While the original line was a bit scary upon arrival, the way they handled things was perfect. Like other mentioned, they came through the line and gave out coffee and donuts. I was very happy they did the ticket thing because we got our tickets, walked around and then went over to Beachwood (they opened about 15 minutes early). That Resinator with Simcoe flowers was amazing.

As far as the Blendery beers are concerned...they were good but not great. Both pretty on point for their styles. I'm hoping the saison develops a little more in the bottle.

It was a good release. I got in line at 9:45, got my tickets at 10:15, left, came back at 1:30 to pick up my bottles and drink the beer on draft, and then went to Beachwood BBQ to get food.
