Perfect description that brought back great memories and also gave me a longing to find another Golden Brett (or more) on shelf around here. Allagash quality may be the most taken for granted excellence in the beer universe.

Pretty much my feelings also. I think it is a good intro into the style, definitely not offensive or flawed, but nowadays there are a number of much tastier versions, at least there are around here. The creaminess you experience is partially due to nitrogenation, which is its purpose to give a more creamy feel. Nice review.

Time to close shop on another NBS super session.

Do you ever get the feeling that we, just by bringing the beers we drink here on Sunday to a location, could have the craziest tastings if done in person?

Thanks to everyone for sharing their thoughts and time and love for our favorite beverage with all the rest of us. See ya next week. Cheers!

yeah i'd have to agree. i picked up a few of these a month or so before sending, from a grocery store i knew had a few lingering. unfortunately they'd been on a shelf all this time (no fridge/cooler). i had one from the pick-up em' myself and was surprised how completely gone the coffee is. it also seemed like the barrel influence had diminished some too. these make a very clear cut case of fresh is better.
