Super excited about the release of this beer and the ba version. Does anyone know how hard this will to get from the brewery on 1604 and release date? Last time I was able to walk in a week after release and grab some. How much trade ammo I will need for 2-3 of each?

First thing: you won't find the BA version at the pub. It will be brewery only, not brewpub. Regular la muerta you will be able to find at HEB. Release date is on their website, but for everyone is Nov 7th. La muerta is released on tap every year on Nov 1st and bottles are always the first Saturday after.

As far as trading goes. I'm just going to ignore that because I hate pre-trade hype. I'm sure @miikezombie already has plenty of pre-trades up already so he can probably fill in

My understanding is beer brewed at their production brewery on Presa have to be sold to a distributor before they can be sold at the brewpub on 1604. Therefore, there is a markup at the brewpub to cover the cost of that nonsense.

Thank the Three Tiered God for his protection and benevolence. Then go to Presa and drop them Benjis. Then send me some.

'Sup dudes. Just a few notes on this year. This is actually the first time I've talked about this anywhere... so that's fun.

We packaged up Regular and BA (Elijah Craig 12 Barrels) today. (BA isn't straight BA. It's 2/3 from the barrel, 1/3 regular). Packaging up BA Coconut and BA Vanilla next week.

Regular and BA will be available at both locations on 11/7, and a very super tiny bit will get distributed. [Note, our San Antonio distributor is rad, and allowed us to carve out our brewpub from our distribution territory, so we actually self-distribute to the brewpub]. I want to stress a SUPER DUPER UBER TINY amount will be be distributed. I'll figure out how much soon.

BA Coconut and BA Vanilla will ONLY be at the bottle release at the S Presa brewery.

We'll have a more detailed blog post up next week, but here are the key dates:

Nov 1. Regular La Muerta '15 will be on tap at our 1604 brewpub.
Nov 2. Hosting a vertical at the brewpub with 2011, 2013, 2014 & 2015. We don't have any '12. Some folks have talked about bringing some of their own.
Nov 5. We'll tap BA La Muerta at the brewpub as a sneak preview for the release on...
Nov 7. Dia de La Muerta. Details at https://www.freetailbrewing.com/dia-de-la-muerta-2015/. Bottles of all 4 released at S Presa. Bottles of Regular and BA at the pub (not a lot of bottles though, just a case or two for those who want to avoid Dia de La Muerta (because they don't like fun, I guess). Also tapping 2 casks (Mole La Muerta and Chocolate Orange La Muerta); a 2014 La Muerta; Coffee La Muerta; and a keg of 100% BA. Also, T-shirts.

While Facebook is by no means the ultimate arbiter of event planning... we actually have more RSVP's on the Facebook event than we did for SMABRD. We're opening a bunch of extra space for the bottle share and have made some changes (see previously linke blog post) to help make things go smoother.

Word to your moms, wives, and girlfriends.

    Scott

@FreetailBrewing How long did La Muerta age in the barrels, was there any increase in ABV on the BA variants?

    Cant wait for November 7th.

We brewed a batch of La Muerta that went into barrels in June. It is technically a different batch from Regular La Muerta (which we brewed in September).

    Regular: 9.11%
BA: 10.01% (this alcohol % is for the blend, not straight BA)

Bummer, looks like it will be harder to get this year. I walked in a grabbed a few from the brewpub last year. Have fun grabbing some and message me if any extras are available...

If I had to guess, I'd say that non-BA La Muerta will probably be as easy to get as it was last year.

I missed out on the previous bottle share and release but I'm hoping to make it to this one!! This will be my first bottle release/share. Not sure really what to expect but judging from all the comments from the previous one, i'm sure nothing but awesomeness will be present!

I'd like to get added on to it too, if that's cool with whoever is doing it?? This will be my first share but I think I've got some brews that I could bring to share that are worth sharing.

Is there ever a doc? At this point, the bottle share is quite large that you are unlikely to even get every bottle that is at your table. If there are multiples, it's probably for the better.
