Anyone notice the trend across the board, it seems? Beer prices seem to be going through the roof here. Some examples; Bell's 30 Anniversary 6 pk @ $20, Ten Fiddy 4 pk @ $16, Founders Breakfast Stout 4 pk @ $14, Stone Enjoy By 6 pk @ $17, and a new local from Hardywood called Trickery bomber @ $17. These aren't even BA beers.

I don't recall these beers being so high in the past and it's a concerning trend. If this keeps up I'll only be able to afford Bud Light.

    I've noticed.

Used to get singles for about 1.99 but now they average 2.50-4 a piece. Figured it was just the shop owner realizing he was the only niche in town with fresh product.

But oh well, times change. I don't mind paying a little more.

I have noticed a 10 to 15% rise int he fall seasonals over last year. And in demand beers have gone through the roof.

Around here SNPA runs between $11.99-$14.99 for a 12-pack of cans. That turns out to be a great option/value that I use fairly often.

7$ 6 pack a few years ago was normal. 10$ six pack is now normal.

Beer prices are always going up because of the prices of grain, hops, labor, gas, etc. but it's staggered so it's hard to notice immediately. Think about what you were paying 5 years ago; frightening to think what it will look like in 5-10 years.

But the prices you listed for the beers you named seem too high to me. Breakfast Stout is $9.99 around here.

Stone Enjoy By six-pack at $17?! Compared to the $8 bombers they use to only be sold as, that's a heck of a deal.

For the rest of the pack, inflation is the answer.

Of course beer prices are going up, along with everything else. Is the price increase following the rate of inflation? I would have to guess it is based on demand, which is strange because our beloved breweries do this for love and not the money, right?

I'm not surprised Bell's 30th is $20 since that seems to be the average for special/limited released RIS/Imperial Stouts. However, I think you might be right on the general trend because of 1) increased demand; 2) difference in distribution among stores; 3) global warming monkeying around with climates where beer ingredients grow; damaging hop harvests and reducing the amount of water available, etc.

Yes, beer prices go up pretty much every year. Anheuser Busch generally leads with price increases across the portfolio (some packages will get increases, others won't) then Miller generally follows a month or two later. Retailers will take note of this and generally increase price on craft to maintain the margin between the domestics and craft. If Miller Lite goes from $6.49/6 pack to $6.99/6 pack with no brewer price change to craft 6 pack X, it makes sense for the store to increase it the same 50 cents to maintain the relative value and pocket a bunch of extra margin.

Yes but not substantially so. And beer is still among the cheapest alcoholic beverages in which one can truly afford most of the best in one's market on a modest salary.

I still have friends that think $10 a six is expensive. Now when I find anything quality at $10, that's a steal.

Trickery is not new, and it was barrel aged. I agree that $17 is steep, but demand for that beer is incredibly high, as evidenced by the humongous line at Hardywood.

Prices aren't going down...fairly stable/going up slightly. I think there are more and more expensive bombers, 4 packs, and special release beers than there used to be
