Putting together a box of the best canned MA beers for a friend and would love to hear everyone's favorites. Right now my short list includes beers from the following breweries (LHBC intentionally omitted, lets keep them out of this discussion) - any I'm missing?

    Tree House
    Night Shift
    Wormtown
    Jack's Abby
    ???

Jack's Abby hasn't started canning, yet.

I enjoy CBC's can's, especially Remain in Light.

In terms of overall beer quality?

    1. Tree House
    2. Newburyport (fresh Greenhead is a sleeper IPA in our own backyard)

Honorable mentions are Wormtown, Night Shift, and CBC but they need to offer more in cans before I include them in my list of “can” breweries.

But if you're asking what the best canned beers in MA are, that's a different question/answer.

Ipswitch Route 101 is decent if you can find it fresh, have never tried any of their other cans but heard they are okay. Agree that Newburyport Greenhead is worth checking out. The pale ale is also decent but I've only had it on draft. Wachusett Larry is also okay, nothing mind blowing. All of these are miles below Treehouse but you wouldn't complain if someone gave it to you at a BBQ.

Notch would be on my list of best MA cans. The Black Lager (aka Cerne Pivo) and the Left of Dial IPA are great.

And if you're expanding to MA ciders, I'm really liking the new cans from Bantam Cider - Americain, Wunderkind, Rojo.

Melt Away from Newburyport as well. Its a really excellent drink. Should not be labeled a session ale but rather a straight pale/ip.

A lot more canned offerings are in the works. In fact we have 7-8 beers headed to cans soonish. We are canning our 4th beer, Awake, our coffee porter later this week and that will be regularly canned alongside Whirlpool, Santilli, and occasionally Morph. Got some others in the works but they shall remain secret for now. Cheers!

    Awesome news.

I still think Whirlpool is the most underrated beer in all of New England. Such a great, unique pale ale.

Forgot that Notch is seemingly all cans now. Funny as I have the black lager in house right now and loving the hell out of it.

Whirlpool is excellent. For its availablity I put it ahead of some Tree House and Trillium beers.

Treehouse - I've been out there 3 times in the past month. Can't get enough
Nightshift - I grab Whirpool and Santilli whenever I see them

I can't wait to get some Jack's Abby cans. Hoponius will be a regular in my fridge. I'm not sure what else they plan on canning.

Came here to say Notch. Yes, that's a 1 liter Maß. And yes, the other picture is a Nightshift Oktoberfest mug from this year, who makes one of my other favorite beers in a can, Whirlpool.

Can you get BLDG 8 anywhere aside from the brewery?

BTW, is Awake the base for Bean Porter?

Nope. Different recipes but share some similar grains. They also use different types of coffee.
