I figure people will constantly stop in for a growler fill and leave disappointed when they can't get it. I know I would do that.

Maybe this guy will start working on that stupid law. With the grocery store selling full strength beer stuff it would be great to see taprooms and liquor stores filling growlers.

That address is not even 1.5 miles away from Two Penguins Taproom. They have 36 CO drafts.

2 Penguins is great but wouldn't mind a place with non co taps too. Plus 2 awesome locations within 5 minutes of my house...no complaining here.

Someone needs to go the opposite direction and create a suburban location with nothing but (high end) imports and non-regionals with only a couple local beers. Kind of like what Cheeky Monk's older MO used to be.
We've got the local thing covered.

^This. This place is 5 minutes from my office, but I can't see myself going there. How can you use the name Growler USA and not fill growlers. This is dumb and annoying

Wonder where the Longmont location will be? My guess would be the old Johnny Carino's maybe.

Live right by the Eugene location, and I'm not so impressed. Was there when someone from corporate came in, and they seem pretty out of touch with their market. Kinda strange they would open one where you can't fill growlers too...

"...two of the best things to happen for beer drinkers in America are the surge in beer entrepreneurship — which has seen the total number of craft breweries top 4,000 this year — and the launch of his national chain of tap rooms."

One of these things is very very very very very much not like the other.:grimacing:

Sorry, I rarely chime in, but this one really struck me.

That's disappointing to hear. Was their beer selection poor or what?

Their beer selection was OK, but for Eugene it's probably the worst out of all the growler fill locations. https://growlerusa.com/craft-beer-pubs/or-eugene-university/craft-beers/ The Bier Stein, Growler Guys, and Tap and Growler all have a much better selection. The person from corporate spouted off about how she knew so much about beer, and how she had to educate people about it. She's located in Denver, so I mentioned Wit's End, Caution, Blackshirt, Diebolt, Comrade and Strange when she said something about having local beers on tap, and she hadn't even heard of any of them... I mean c'mon, isn't that kind of maybe a little bit important to your job?? She also reprimanded the staff for doing half-pints (which I love half-pints), and told them they are no longer able to serve them. I kinda tuned her out after that, but I remember her rambling on about lots of things that were non-beer related to draw people in.. made me wonder if they really care about the beer at all.

That being said the staff that works there are all very friendly and it's convenient and laid back if you're just stopping in for a quick fill of something easy to get.

Corporate beer joint sounds corporate. Ho hum.

Although, to be fair, some corporate joints have their shit together. I am continually impressed with the beers on offer at World of Beer Cherry Creek and Downtown.
