Yeah, I mean this is New York City. Unfortunately there are tons of people with this kind of disposable income.

Call me crazy but I don't understand the uproar about the taskrabbit thing. Some people have lots of time and not much money and are willing to spend a lot of time to save a little money, and some people have a lot of money and not much time and are willing to spend some cash to save themselves a little time. Neither one seems inherently more honorable to me (and yes I will be standing on line in the flesh on Saturday morning). Nobody here would blink at someone trading $20 worth of beer for an allocation that someone else stood in line for, but make it $20 worth of cash and apparently the sanctity of the beer world is under threat.

This is a very valid point. In a way anyone that trades beer is a taskrabbit for someone else. Interesting perspective.

Definitely agree with this, as long as you're using it as a proxy for yourself. I think it can become an issue if you're using taskrabbit to mule or to get beer specifically to trade that you wouldn't otherwise consume.

Yeah they didn't even hold back any cases. They had about one case of AGE that a client didn't buy. So they sold it to the public. People love to complain.

I think I would be really upset about this if someone hired this service to go and fill say, 15 growlers and I got stuck behind that person in the taproom. Taskrabbit is not how I would spend my money, but I could imagine if I had kids and wanted to get cans, I could definitely see this as a service to avoid hiring a babysitter or dragging them down there for a few hours.

Yes, agreed. If you're using it to circumvent the limit that's not cool (and also silly - they'll have more awesome fresh IPAs available two weeks from now, just buy some of those).

Our taskrabbit is 8 hours of manual labor.

Doesn't seem like a big uproar. I have no problem with it. I just don't understand what the need is for some people to have a beer so bad that they pay someone to wait for it. Maybe I don't get it. Everyone has different reasons for doing it but in the end it's just beer.... Good beer, but not vital to life or anything. (Well that could be debated.) plenty of other good stuff available there on any other day if u can't make it on release days. Or grab it on tap somewhere.

I'm really bummed to be missing this one. I have to work till about noon and about an hour away.

Think they will do growlers? I just want to try it, not trade/sell it. But I know cans will be long gone by 1:00 when I get there

Mmm this can of AGE is tasting very nice atm. Perfect balance between hop fruitiness and alcohol heat.

People can use this to get around the limits. Go yourself, get one limit, hire 3 taskrabbits get 3 limits. Not cool.

There is a black market too, so there are stores illegally reselling OH beer, they have their own mules or could hire taskrabbits to scoop up as much beer and sell it for prices higher than what OH is selling it for.

Been going into overdrive with the fridge-cleaning in preparation for Saturday. Got 3 All Green Everythings left along with about 8 El Dorados. Fortunately my roommate has been selfless enough to offer to drink a few to relieve me of this horrible burden.

As much as I plan to wait in line and get my max allotment, I really would prefer if they lowered the max to 1 four pack. Again, just my personal preference as it would make "task rabbits " less of an option and give more people a chance to buy. Either way, really looking forward to Saturday.

I think this may be too much for me. I was hoping for weekday release to avoid this insanity. Unfortunately committed to the 5K run at Prospect Park for CHIPS anyways. Was going to skip the run but now this helps make the decision a little easier. And then I'll treat myself to a draft of this somewhere after. But no cans.
