Just saw a FB post that Bale Breaker is pulling some hop bines out of Field 41 to make room for a bigger brewery. Good for them. Anybody got more details?

Hopefully this means more Bottom Cutter comes to Spokane (I missed it when it did).

Good, because it's a strong candidate for worst beer name ever.

it tastes like a bale breaker beer, looks like a stone beer, and is named like a 4 hands beer.

Personal rant here, y'all feel free to ignore. What the hell is up with that whole "sorry, not sorry" phrase anyway? Are the users having regret for not feeling sorrow? If they're feeling regret, aren't they actually sorry to begin with? I am, admittedly, a pedant. I like accuracy. That phrase drives me so F'n crazy.

    Thanks for listening, carry on.

I didn't even know that phrase was a thing. But I'm sure now I'll be hearing it everywhere.

It's been being used by folks who know they're stepping on toes, and sorta, kinda, maybe, possibly,no-not-really, we don't mean it even a little, as an excuse for being assholes. I accept my assholeness openly. Fuck the fakers.

Do you really think we need to be told to drink? Where do you think these posts come from?

Haven't heard an update in a couple of months, but what I did hear was that they are planning an expansion over the next couple of years, should nearly double their production levels. Right now they are operating at or over their capacity. Which is great for them, the Stone collab is only going to give them a broader reach and gain exposure in new markets. As long as there is enough to go around here, and Bottom-Cutter makes it into cans, I'll be a happy man.

I have no idea if this is true but it strikes me as something that was originally quasi-authentic and then regressed.
    What do I mean?

People often say "sorry" or "excuse me" and don't really mean it. They mean something like "wow, you're to sensitive ... what's your problem" or "get out of my way" respectively. So I think "sorry, not sorry" originated as a way of people lampooning that passive aggressive or self-centered use of sorry. But, then, voila - the same people that would say sorry in that bitchy tone co-opted "sorry, not sorry" as a way of more explicitly stating that it's your fault you're too sensitive.

Anyway, I don't dislike it as a beer name. I think it tongue in cheek works with the whole "arrogant bastard" bottle copy while also sort of winking at the inanity of the phrase. Stone get's shit for making another IPA? Well, they're "sorry, not sorry" because they're arrogant bastards. It's third degree appropriation of mindless pop-culture.

On another note, Bale Breaker is releasing a new beer this weekend and I believe it's the first non-hoppy beer they've done. It's called Dormancy, an imperial stout that was conditioned on locally roasted coffee beans from a Yakima roaster. I really look forward to trying this, just have to get over to Yakima to try it. But for those in Seattle, they say they are serving it at Winter Beer Fest.

Has bottom cutter always been year round? I thought it was just seasonal where they only brew it a couple times a year. Their site says its year round now. (and Im curious if the cans will be as widely available as the topcutter ones?

I popped in specifically to post this. While it's proven unnecessary, I'm glad I did just to read @beertunes's epic rant, which I somehow missed until now.
