That's weird because they gave me the discount on Saturday for my bottles and bar tab.

Yep, I grabbed 3. Let me check to make sure they're real .... yup.
I was told the previous Sat (31st) that they would have had it out already, but they had a problem with their foiler. Which led me to hilariously make a "The foiler foiled you" joke. But was then told that they would quietly have it available "next week", so I popped in this past Sat and it was still on tap and in 750ml for $28.
Now to drink them quick ... just in case.

My wife went yesterday (Mon, 11/10) to pick up some more bottles. They were out...although someone found 2 bottles for her. And, they honored the AHA discount.

Is there any sort of bottle limit on these guys? Would they balk if I requested say 4 bottles?

We bought 3 Saturday, and they didn't seem to care. But like I said, I think bottles are out right now.

I'm pretty sure GD pays sales tax out of the (inclusive) price. Or, let's say, they'd better! A Denver brewery that sells $5 pints [and doesn't charge the tax on top, obviously many approach it that way] actually gets, I believe under current tax rates of 8% all-in (I think!), $4.63, and the city/state/RTD/cultural district split $.37)

So the $10 10oz pour garnered GD $9.26 and the taxing entities $.74, while the $28 750 ml bottle brought GD $25.92.

Of course, out of a retail $25 bottle, they'd get, give tor take, probably around $13.13 a bottle (assuming 30% distributor margin and 25% retailer margin; distributor could be as low as 28% and retailer could be as high as 30%, so around there somewhere.)

One more stupid question. How limited do you think these bottles will be? Will they hit distro and collect dust, or hit distro and be snapped up? At that price I could see them sitting. I just know a couple of my friends are dying to try this, so I'm hoping I can hook them up.

BA Great Divide bottles have tended to sit on shelves for extended periods of time in the past, likely due to the high price point, and the fact that the last batch of BA Yeti was infected...

I'd guess these won't be too hard to find. I also think they see limited distro across the country...

Told me 112 or 120 barrels. Said it would hit distro and that included CA and PA

My receipt from Saturday when I bought 2 bottles and 2 pours of BA Yeti had a tax line. So I don't believe tax is included in the price

Thats what I figured, I got hosed. I kept my receipt and will email em today. I got charged $28 plus tax so three bottles came out to $90.69.

I drank one already and it is great. I think it's the best batch yet. They had to have used Stranahans barrels.

The old bottles sat more because of the price more than the infection thing. The idea of spending $28 for anything was absurd when we could buy Bourbon County bombers for something like $7 each, no limit. Now, it's steep but not totally crazy.
Old BA Yeti infections were a little like Black Tot - they were fine initially and then bingo, infection reports started popping up after a few months/years. I thought it was a myth until recently encountering 3 in a row. That's after having quite a few that were fine on release. When BA Yeti is "on" - it's as good as any if you dig the extra hops. That's the main differentiator, IMO.

I talked to Alexis at GD and was told that the AHA discount applies to everything and that comes straight from Brian Dunn.

I think that's exactly what it means--tax is included in the price, not added in on the tax line of the receipt. The receipt prints the way it goes because it's programmed for tax being added but you can override that if you want the price to be "tax included." I remember doing that with the programmer at my place. There was still a tax line because that's the way the software worked, and besides we did charge tax as an add-on (rather than "inclusive") on the food items and merch we sold.

But you can't do a retail transaction in this state without being charged with the legal duty of collecting and transmitting the appropriate sales tax. I think*.

I can think of a reason I might be wrong though. Namely, they've already paid state excise tax, and their ability to sell at retail in a tasting room requires only a manufacturer's license and a wholesaler's license per the statute. So maybe it's a retail sale that isn't considered a "retail sale" for sales tax purposes. I kinda doubt it though.

*Maybe @dauss can chip in with a definitive answer here.

Mine receipt had a price of $27.99 a bottle (x2), $10 for draft (x2) and then $4.58 for tax. It's not included in the price of the beer.

I dunno about all the tax mumbo jumbo, but I did hear that a foil issue delayed the initial bottle release of BA Yeti.

Anyway, I'll just wait for them to be released again or hit distro or whatever.

I guess I misunderstood something jasonrm72 said about giving the money to GD instead of Colorado, which then led me to misunderstand what you were saying. Sorry!

One of my absolute favorite CO BA stouts is almost upon us again, Copper Kettle Snowed In - https://www.facebook.com/events/788953887881394/

I still have a couple left from last year; I am very curious to see how they've aged compared to fresh.
