Figured it was about time Kane had it own thread.

Two new hop lab beers last weekend. Seems like Kane is ramping up production. Any thoughts on the Azacca or Wheat IPA?

Good idea - thanks for setting up this thread!

I have loved the Hop Lab series so far, especially Citra. Unfortunately, I missed the Hop Lab Triple IPA, but I understand that it will be brewed again.

Agreed, I'd put Citra up against any single hop beer around, really well made. The triple IPA was phenomenal. I wasn't aware they were going to be doing that again, this made my day, ill be on the lookout for that.

Had both new Hop Labs this weekend. Enjoyed both, but think I liked the Wheat one a bit more

Great work @NJNYC732 putting in a monthly for Kane. Makes sense with the new bottling line and hopefully more common canning runs in the near future.

Hop Lab has been fun to follow and I'd put in my vote on the Triple IPA as the standout. That was a good month of drinking having sipped on that brew repeatedly.

But seriously, glad to see a thread finally out here.

Can anyone list some recommendations on favorite places to eat nearby Kane?

I've eaten at Twisted Tree Cafe in Asbury Park - I thought it was quite good.

I always recommend taking the 5 minute drive to Asbury Park. Cookman ave and the boardwalk are really nice places to spend a few hours. Cookman ave has a ton of restaurants. If you want a place with a good tap list I would check out Brick Wall. There is also a relatively new beer garden, but I cant speak to the food, I have never eaten there. Not to mention there are 2 new breweries in Asbury that should be opening really really soon.

A few other places pretty close are MJ's, Brick House Tavern and Main Street Bar and Grill. Of those three I would say Brick House is the best option.

That is true. But I think I would rather see Ripple as the full time pale ale. Though its very close, I would take either as a year round.

@Superflyjsc it really depends how upscale you want to go as Asbury Park has tons of options. Staying beer focused, Brickwall and the Festhalle Hall are probably best bets. I've had good meals at Cross and Orange and Fish. Heard good things about Porta and Pascal and Sabine is a nice if expensive French Bistro (both owned by Smith Hotel group I believe). Heard good things about sushi at Taka as well.

Ripple is absolutely amazing. I am a bit confused though. Been told by 2 different people at the brewery that it is single hop Nelson, however, the website says otherwise http://www.kanebrewing.com/2013/09/03/ripple/

Please. Antead has already been mentioned, this thread will be deleted within the next 48 hours. Apparently, we can't have nice things...

I have also been told it is a single hop Nelson. I think the recipe changed this past summer and they just haven't updated the website. I was also told that it will not be back until next summer, kind of a bummer.

I loved the Hop Lab Citra. Hoping we continue to see more of these in Hoboken.

Thanks for starting this @NJNYC732 !

Is their bottling line only going to be used for specialty beers? Can it handle smaller bottles?

I would love to see them throw some of their Hop Lab series in 12 oz bottles or even make them a 'specialty' canning when they bring in Iron Heart to do more Head High.

Plenty of solid choices in Bradley Beach, which is just south of Asbury Park. I'm partial to Fins, which allows you to BYO.

    My only complaint with Kane

They need to adjust the settings on their Facebook page so that people without a Facebook account can see it.
I get a tweet that says what is on tap. But I can only read about a third of it. I am not signing up for Facebook.

YES! I had to create a Facebook page just so I could see their tap list
