Its a red ale with a little bit of cherry. Kinda weird melding it all together. No way I could do all 6 of em. Conviced a shop owner to sell me one.

    Cheers!

i got a bottle of this today in a box from kevsal in a "just send anything" kind of trade.

finally getting to open it now around midnight, and i'll say that i agree with your assessment. tons of hops, really great. in terms of overall flavor and mouthfeel, i'd put it just behind heady topper / hill farmstead IPAs, but in terms of hop aroma it matches or beats them. the amount of distinct hop flavor they got into the taste is really great too (the overall flavor and mouthfeel are also great, really, it's just that i happened to go on the VT "holy shit" IPA vacation a couple weeks ago).

but yeah, i could see drinking a case of this over a few weeks easily.

Had a great weekend camping with friends by Lake Michigan. (Even if the lake temperature dropped 30 degrees in one day.)

Currently sharing my first bottle of this with the boyfriend. Taking a cue from the cooler weather this weekend, think I'm ready for fall. Bring on the stouts.

Yea I had the pleasure tonight as well, I was hoping you were wrong because I opened it right after I saw your post lol

    Tonight:

Excellent Pale Ale. Lots of nutty and caramel malt balance with great hop flavors. my glass was gone reallllllly fast.

This was a damn nice porter surprisingly given the reviews. Very robust and balanced. nice herbal hops flavors with lots of milk chocolate, toffee, roasted malt, caramel, and a bit of nuttiness and biscuit. Very robust. I wasn't that big of a fan of their IPA but this is a hit(not world class but really really good overall)

This had to be old. No bottle dating, apparently they have a year after BB date on this one? I got this in OH, so they must have sent an old batch there. Aromas and taste definitely had a vibe of "old hops" with caramel, toast, and molasses. Lightly cloying sweetness and herbal/pine bitterness. It was fairly enjoyable though. It sucks that I have had so many fresh IPAs that old hop character sticks out like a sore thumb.

Not a fan of their latest album, but their older albums all kick ass.

Tonight was a night of sharing with my husband. First, we split a DFH Ta Henket. That one was very yeasty, and almost reminded me of pizza dough. (I may have drank that one while waiting for supper to get done). We then split a bottle of BA Naked Evil. This is one of the better barleywines I've had so far. I'm kind of nursing this one as I write my final paper for class, and I have to say, it is getting awfully sweet the more it sits. I probably should finish it...and my paper.

I'm guessing all the coffee is dead in that 07? I wish the labels still looked like that.

Nope, the coffee's strong (taken on a complex acidity, actually). It's the bourbon/vanilla that's faded…

Pretty much what I thought when I drank mine, 06 actually seems to have more coffee flavor.

Went the cheap route with a 2 dollar bomber from Trader Joe's. Boatswain Chocolate Stout. Not too bad for 2 bucks.
