But when those 12 oz samples (well, 33 cl to be accurate) are St. Bernardus Abt how could anyone be sad?

To me, Goldings tastes just like hops should. So often these days I'm given beer which tastes like grapefruit juice.

Also id say Braggot. Its not %100 mead so im saying it. Especially for those who like honey, they are extremely good. One of my absolute favorite styles.

    I'd have to say IPA.

As said above, Schwarzbiers, Milds, Rauchbiers, Grodziskies and Brown Ales are all what I was thinking. I'm gong to throw in Zwickel and Patersbier as well.

I've been lucky to find some of the more under the radar styles in 6 packs recently and it has made this nerd a happy camper.

Can you think of anyone that does? Fuller's ESB is about the most English hopped up brew I've had, and I love it.

Also, got any recipes for some English hop bombs, whether pale or dark?

I live in San Diego so I am basically surrounded by IPA. I'd love to see more breweries release saison considering they are the perfect beer for our climate.

That's actually a very good point. I'm not much of a reviewer, but the next time I have some Rothaus or Pivo I shall do just that.

English dark mild. Nobody talks about these and few brewers make it.

I really like a nice English Brown Ale. Good malts, mild hops and a reasonable ABV.

Yikes, 177 IBUs at 5% abv. That would be cool if a brewer tried this recipe for an Extreme Beerfest in Boston.

That was my point! Those used to the flavours of new world hops might struggle to recognise hoppiness. And of course 'English styles' are all 'malt forward' 'versions' of the superior American brews...

Unfortunately there are too many people against English hops at the moment...I'm always looking for English hopped beers. I had one (from a fairly new brewery) that looked promising (as it claimed to be brewed with only English hops, but I feel they cheated by using 'English Cascade')...But who knows, one day Goldings and Fuggles might become fashionable...

For me, definitely Black IPA. It's one of my favorite styles and most people here don't seem to care much about it.
