    Hey all,

What are some of your favorite variety packs that are currently out now... Looking to try a few good beers from a new brewery. There's a store nearby that stocks from across the country so no need to limit this geographically.

Right now there are some very solid choices out there, Sixpoint Boom box, Boulevard crazy eight, and Sierra nevada Snow pack are quality beers at a great value.

IMO none of the variety packs are ever worth buying.

Sierra Nevada. They have a few very solid regulars amongst the other beers. Cannot go wrong.

Great Lakes. Edmund Fitzgerald is a top tier porter, plus Burning River is a fantastic Pale Ale. Delicious and a great price.

Sixpoint Boom box is great, also the Smuttynose variety pack. I haven't tried SN Snowpack but it sounds awesome

I live in CT and always love the Two Roads mix packs - easy drinking, every day beers that contain some diversity in choices

Why not? You get to try a couple things from a brewer's portfolio and they are economical as well. It might not be the best way to buy beers that you are already familiar with (unless you love every single beer in the mix) but it is a great way to try new ones.

to the OP: I would highly recommend the ones from Deschutes, Great Lakes, SN, and Founders. And I wouldn't thumb my nose at the Sam Adams winter mix either.

Boulevard Crazy Eight is the best variety pack widely available that I have come across recently.

Agree . . . Although I don't have access to Odell I see their add every month in Ba magazine and wish I could pick one up every time.

Probably either Citra Mantra or Couch Surfer. Totally agree on the Otter Creek Variety packs.

Troegs and Otter Creek have good ones. Not exactly "variety", but Stone's Bastard box has some nice AB variants

Stone's current variety pack with Pale Ale 2.0, Coffee Milk Stout, Cali-Belgique, and Ruination 2.0 was rather enjoyable.

This is a hard question to answer because I'm not sure your definition of "new brewery". Most good breweries that have a mixed twelve would be a good investment if you've never had anything from them. Otherwise, I rarely pick up a mixed twelve because I've usually had all the beers in it.
