What beer are you drinking now? #1122

Continuing the IPA parade with this beauty.

 

Hey BA's I work in a couple hours so no time tonight to throw a couple back and relax but i figured Id get one in before its time to go, so here it is. DDC's Route des espices (spice route) a rye beer brewed with Peppercorns. Cheers!

 

Doing s little country ticking tonight. First time on this one, and as AAL's go it's pretty solid. Nice appearance, clear, pale yellow with a voluminous white head that leaves tons of lacing. Clean tasting, a little sticky bitterness on the palate as it warms from fridge temp. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the kitchen for a jerk chicken wrap.

Oh yeah. The infamous Okie. Not what I was expecting for the money. 12% abv though...it'll getcha fucked up.


Kassik's Roughneck Stout from a care package from the bro-in-law. Meh. Pretty weak. Does not scream, "Alaska!"


Finishing up with Marshall Bound For Glory. Now that's a good beer. Immerse yourself in the sweet woody vanilla.


Yeah, my phone camera sux in low light conditions. Time for a new one, dammit!

Just got some great news! My Mom gets to leave the hospital tomorrow! One more round of dialysis and then they transport her to the rehab section of the senior living facility my parents are at; close enough to home and she's out of the hospital!!!

Calls for this beer of course!

East Kent Saison, a new one by Pretty Things (here on its second pour). It's a 5.6 abv brew with English hops and English yeast and it's a singularly refreshing quaff. I've been grabbing one of these pretty much every time I've visited the local liquor emporia for the past several weeks because I assume it's a one-off and I'll miss it when it's gone.



This is also apparently the debut brew of their new "Saint Arnoul of Soissons' Series of Surprising Saisons." Gosh!

 

This is an interesting offering from Ithaca. Don't know the abv, can't find any real info on this DIPA but it's really smooth. This can't be that strong. Nice blend of resiny pine and creamy citrus with a hint of berry(?!) on the finish. This is actually really drinkable. Cheers.

 

Pretty excited about my first experience with this stuff...

 

This beer brings Longtrail up in my book. Nice solid barrel aged beer. The barrel character isn't overwhelming and plays nicely with the base beer.

 

Had I known about the bidding process I would have outbid somebody maybe........great beer even if they are now not the little guy.
