Well one of my teams won tonight. The beer will now flow like wine:astonished: Hot tub time: Going up-town with some Founders Harvest:sunglasses:

Getting into to my first bottled experience with Pfriem on this cold, dreary evening...

Nothing like a solid winter ale to help shake the cold.

    Cheers BAs!

    Finishers:

My go-to Oatmeal stout. Big robust flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted oats, dark bread, and nutty malts; with light licorice/molasses notes and balanced herbal hop bitterness. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel with plenty of robust/complex flavor for 5.2%. Always excellent.

Always fantastic hoppy brown ale. Flavors of big chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toast, dark bread, molasses, and light dark fruit; with a moderate amount of herbal/grassy/pine hop flavors. Nice moderate pine/grassy bitterness, with a great balance of hop/malt flavors; with a moderately creamy/silky and smooth mouthfeel; with some light-moderate hop stickiness. This is yet another beer I am glad I revisited in the last year, because I buy it semi-regularly now. When I first reviewed it 4-5 years ago, I wasn't too big of a fan.

Tasting awesome this year as usual. Big flavors of peach, tangerine, pineapple, pear, guava, lemon zest, citrus rind, clove, pepper, pine, light banana/bubblegum, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness; with some light bready maltiness. Big aggressive piney bitter and peppery yeast spicy finish. Very dry with lingering resins after the finish with no astringency. Smooth sipping with with some light-moderate warming ABV. Great complexity of the tropical/citrus galaxy hops and fruity/spicy yeast all around. Glad this has been making a regular comeback every year since it's initial bottle release. Not on the list for next year, though. But really not much of an issue, since I always like trying new Short's, and next year is loaded with new bottling.
