This makes me very Excited. IMO Head Hunter is the best year round bottled IPA you can get in PA.

Fat Head’s Brewery of Middleburg Heights, OH announced today that the brand will be rolling into the Philadelphia market and they are delighted to be teaming up with The Gretz Beer Company and Penn Beer Sales & Service. The launch will beginJanuary 1with a series of kick-off events scheduled across the regionJanuary 10 through 17.

Their expansion into Eastern PA comes on the heals of Fat Head’s most prolific showing to-date at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival, where they were awarded five medals. Hop Juju Imperial IPA won its second gold medal in just 3 years, an unbelievable accomplishment in a category loaded with 208 entries this year, and 149 when it won in 2013. Gold medals were also awarded to Blitzkrieg Bock (Rye Beer), Bone Head Imperial Red (Double Red Ale), andMidnightMoonlight Black IPA (American-Style Black Ale), solidifying Head Brewmaster Matt Cole’s absolute mastery of hop-forward styles. Black Knight Schwarzbier won silver, it’s second silver in the German-Style Schwarzbier category. No other brewery took home more than 3 medals. Fat Head’s has won every year since they began brewing in 2009, with 14 total Great American Beer Festival awards to their name.

In Philadelphia, Fat Head’s will debut three core brews on draft and in bottles. Their highly-acclaimed flagship, Head Hunter India Pale Ale, is an uncivilized and aggressive West Coast-Style IPA with a huge hop display of pine, grapefruit and pineapple. Head Hunter has been repeatedly awarded at the Great American Beer Festival, has won back-to-back silver awards at the World Beer Cup (2012, 2014) in the ultra-competitive American-Style IPA category, and was twice named Grand Champion at the National IPA Challenge. Draft Magazine labeled Head Hunter one of the “Top 25 Beers in the World" in 2009 after it made waves winning gold at the West Coast IPA Fest, which it repeated in 2012. Voted “Most Refreshing Beer in America” by Brewing News Magazine, Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale is brewed with local honey and infused with fresh blueberries. Bumble Berry is light and refreshing with a peasant blueberry aroma, crackery malt flavor and hint of sweetness. Sunshine Daydream Session IPA balances big hop aromas with a light malt backbone. Flavors of citrus, peach, orange and tropical fruit make this a very drinkable session ale, some might call it an obsession.

    ABOUT FAT HEAD’S BREWERY

In their most recent venture, Fat Head’s took up residence in Portland, OR, operating a 300 seat brewpub in the heart of the Pearl District.
