The Big Year

I just started using Untappd this year and January 4th was my first check in, so currently I have 227 unique beers this year and will probably hit ~240 if I tick the short list I have in my head before the year's out.

This year is by far the most unique-beer-ticking I have ever done though, all my previous years have probably been less that 1/3 of that number.

 

I've had roughly 600 uniques since last November, according to Untappd. I only attended one festival, so I'm either proud or a bit ashamed about that number. Not sure which quite yet.

 

Probably around 300

 

Based only on reviews for BY 2015, I am up to 312. Throw in another (conservatively) 35 - 40 unique beers that I've rated in years past but still routinely drink (Two Hearted, Old Raspy, Sculpin, all those great releases, etc.,.) and assume another 25 by the end of the year and we're probably going to ballpark 360 - 375?

 

I will be that guy......How do you half taste a beer.

 

I've really only started keeping a meaningful count this past July (mid-July during my Cape Cod trip), not including sample pours I've had about 130 unique beers. I imagine over an entire year I would be somewhere around 300-400...let's revisit this next July!

 

I average about 3 new beers a day, or so my untapped account tells me, so I should be at 1095 unique beers a year... woof

 

I tried to have a new beer a day for an entire year a few years ago. IIRC, I ended up just short of 700. And that didn't count festival pours, just full pours/servings. Lots of folks do the beer-a-day thing, and I remember some folks havig done two a day.

 

when I was big into Untappd, I remember the first entry was at the airport, when I was on my way to a funeral...I kept up pretty good on that app with all of my beers, I remember a year later, to the date of the funeral, I just happened to look at the app, and I was at 325 (I think I counted 4-oz flights also)

 

I travel a lot and share with friends once a week usually so I'm at about 400 unique a year

I would guess that I am somewhere around 450 for the year. A couple of work trips made this a fairly good beer year for me.

 

Only 121 so far this year. I'm slacking.

 

529 so far in 2015. June, July, and August were good beer months for me - 256 unique beers in those three months alone.

 

My father's main hobby is birding. He also likes craft beer so we share that interest. He noticed me entering beer information on my phone [on Untappd] and he asked what I was doing. I explained to him what Untappd was and he said, "oh... so it's your life list." We laughed.

I'm going to guess that I'm at around 300 unique check-ins for this year based a cursory review of my Untappd activity. I'm a little surprised at that, because I don't consider myself a ticker, but a 3-day beer-cation to NYC seems to have really bumped up that number.

 

I did 904 uninterrupted days with a unique beer each night. (Quality only. No BMC.) It spanned across 2009-2012. I had no end-game plan in mind, so it just ended when I didn't feel like doing it anymore.

Always kept my taste buds on the run and the reason I like just about everything these days.
Except the crappy stuff.

I actually did a big year for birds and decided to do one for beer this year. So far I have rated 435 beers since January 1st through today. My original goal was to drink 100 of the top 250 sadly every time I drink a ranked beer it falls off the list so I have 55 of the top 250 with maybe another 10 in the fridge that I can get to before the end of the year. One thing with drinking 435 beers in a year has caused some serious weight gain. Next year will be the the year of losing weight.

 

Thanks! I was always comfortable knowing that “life could happen" at anytime and the streak get broken, so it all went down with no stress about missing a day. Then after the 904 straight days it was a woman that distracted me...and soon it ended. But I also married her...and I still drink a great beer every night.

 

My first year as a BA, I entered 621 beers. I'm half way through my second year and I've entered another 215. I've definitely repeated some beers from the first year, but I don't keep track of them.
