With a little over a week away and no new thread about BCBS I figured I'd get the ball rolling. This is my first year in Denver for BCBS releases and since I Iived in the Chicago area before this I would like to know how obtaining bottles and attending special tappings go out here. I figure we can use this thread to post any info on special tappings, bottle releases and any general info the local Denver veterans may have. Here's what I've got so far...

Wednesday 11/25: 7pm @ Stoneys (11th and Lincoln) - Preview release party for 2015 BCBS and BCBCS. No other info provided yet.

Friday 11/27: 5pm or 7pm (can't remember the exact time but I'll report back) @ Falling Rock - BCBS tapping. No other info provided. Big banner hanging at the front of the building.

Friday 11/27: 2pm @ Cheeky Monk - "Official Black Friday Colorado Release" of BCBS and variants. No other info provided yet.

I plan on going to Argonaut for bottles but don't really know what to expect. Any info that anybody can provide based on previous years would be greatly appreciated. I know with special releases like this people can be hesitant on giving away any info/secrets they may have but hey, we're supposed to be all about advocacy right?? Hopefully we can generate some good info in this thread. Happy Bourbon County season boys and girls.

At Argonaut you can expect to be in line with a bunch of confused bums who are pissed that all these neckbeards are making them wait a little while to purchase that first thing in the morning shooter of Fireball

That shit made me crack up! I work at the 1Up across the street so I'm used to dealing with the Colfax/Cap Hill bums on a daily basis.

I haven't seen anyone post release details yet. Cheeky monk will have bcbs bcbcs bcbbw and an oatmeal on tap.

Welcome! Get in good with some local shops and you won't have to wait in line and/or experience the BCBS/Black Friday mess. Once I check in with my shops, I'll be sure to drop a dime. Good luck!

Parry's Pizza Highlands Ranch is where I'll be setting up camp at 11am when they open. Have to check, but I hope the tap takeover starts right when I get there...

Davidson's is releasing at 3pm Black Friday. 4 bottle limit on BCBS. Lottery for Rare. No information on other variants.

What's going on with the $10 a bottle??? Isn't it typically $5 per bottle?

Seriously, if you expect me to pay $40 for 4 pack of BCBS I'm walking straight out the door. That is just unacceptable mark up. From what I hear this year's Coffee is outstanding but the rest of the variants leave a bit to be desired, with some of my friends reporting Prop as being nothing special. I'll save my dollars for BCBCS on tap.

16.9oz singles instead of 12oz 4 packs. The cost isn't really out of line with any other ba stout.

Yeah I actually just saw that. I would agree as well.

People are willing to pay $1/oz for some BA, but $0.5917/ oz is just cray-cray?!? :astonished:

I might not be getting a 4 pack, but I will try to get some that day.

I like the stuff, but just can't get excited for it anymore. I even skipped the Cedar Creek thing last week. Seems everyone and their mom has a BBA stout now, so I'll free up another spot for ya'll.

Same here. I'll hold on to the '07s until I can't hold out any longer

'07 *is* pretty excessive (I bet they could double for Kikkoman) but '09's were borderline shelf turds. Those still have a little life left in them, although they're definitely too old for my tastes.

I've got one left too, although it's really just a novelty for me now since it has the old label. Not to burst your bubble, but 2007 has always been my least favorite year.

EDIT: Let me clarify. 2007 has always tasted significantly more oxidized than the others. And I'm not talking about now, because yes, I realize this is an 8 year old beer. I participated in a 2006-2012 vertical and a 2007-2013 vertical (both a couple of years ago) and the 2007s were my least favorite both times.
