Looks like there was a second shipment to a lot of stores today. Picked up at South Lyndale.

Viking Liquor Barrel in Prior Lake had several 4 packs for 9.79 when I was there (about an hour ago).

I scored a couple 4-packs at Burnsville TW. If anybody gets shut out, let me know (soonish). I'd be happy to help a brother out.

There looked to be a couple of cases just dropped off at Ale Jail this afternoon.

Finished my first bottle. This beer is amazing! I'm so glad to be tasting some new local barleywine and I can't wait to have some more. Curious to see how the hops fade as it ages.

I'm wondering if maybe the enjoy by date is when they anticipate the hops to start fading?? Pure speculation. I, for one, am gonna cellar a bunch of these.

Heard from a sale rep.. The one case per store will be lifted next week.. Found mines at a reasonable price 9.99.

@summitbeer I was just reading the label on this, and the ingredients include "torrefied wheat". What is that, and role does it play in the beer?

I haven't heard much so far about this being on tap anywhere. I'd love to taste it without opening my precious bottles. Anyone have any leads?

Dude, it's just a local beer that's not even hard to get.
Why wouldn't you just drink one?

    Edit:
    BTW, it's pretty good.

I've been only able to get two so far and I'd like to age them if I like the beer. I'll try to find more but won't be doing any truck chasing. If I end up opening one, so be it; I'd just prefer not to if I can help it.

I only say that because, if you really like it you can probably find more now.
The longer you wait, the harder it'll most likely get.

I drank one right away for that simple reason.
I thought it was good, but not enough to warrant a stockpile.
Besides that, tap rarely mirrors bottles anyway.

There was a third shipment in the metro, several stores posted more packs, all of them with two pack limits.

Having one of these right now. Underwhelmed after all the reviews I've seen. Many finer barleywines out there.

Or maybe you just prefer the hoppier American style barleywines over the not so hoppy English style barleywines. I personally prefer the English style, and there most certainly aren't many options on the shelf locally.
