I was able to tick another handshake today. @jawas was in town so we met up for lunch and a couple beers(No Rules was on tap). It was great putting a face with a name and meeting another local.

 

Enjoy! I actually quite enjoy that she-monster -- unfortunate that they don't bottle date, but I got it (and the other spring house bottle) directly from the brewery so hopefully it's reasonably fresh. The 6 days are definitely the "meat" of that box though, there were a couple bottles in there that were tough to let go.

I'm starting to get excited for next week!

 

I asked @Littlelotte88 if she could pickitupformebro / pickitupformebroette some fresh VT hops so that I could re-pay a co-worker who has been helping me out with local releases. Then she drops this bomb on me:

Okay, so a few months back I see a post from @Clarkson where he was begging for a couple JK beers. And I don't just mean "Hey if you have an extra I would like one". No, it was a full blown crawling on his knees begging. I felt so sorry for him since he was obviously out of beer. So, trying to do a good deed I packed up the two JK beers he was having a conniption over, threw in a couple small extras and shipped it off.

This morning I see a Fedex notification from Dallas. What? Why was he sending me beer when he was obviously out of beer before? Now today we find out why he was out of beer....he was saving his money for his wife's upcoming boob job. I'm thinking that Josh will be without beer funds for quite a while now as he saves up for those enhanced squeeze boxes. So I'm thinking maybe I need to send him more beer to help make up for him diverting his beer funds to a more worthwhile and pleasurable cause. Maybe send him some Fresh Squeezed or something like that. It's the least I can do since he may be without beer for a while.

Anyway, back to the box....


Community Barrel Aged Legion - We get most Community beers in Houston but unfortunately those greedy Dallas people keep all of this beer to themselves. Love this beer and its probably the best regularly brewed BA Stout in Texas.
Bull & Bush Liquid Brain - Want! been wanting to try this one for a while now.
Fegley's Bourbon Barrel Insidious - A previous Want that I have been saving to share with my group so I'm excited to have another one all to my self that I can open soon.

Thanks Josh! You obviously knew my (and wife's) love of barrel aged stouts. Much appreciated!

Feel a thirst coming on as I dig into this monster 44 lb. box @lefty17 sent me so I grabbed this out of the fridge. Glassware is from a previous Matt box, I'm giving away the vast majority of the beer he sent me in this last box but I couldn't resist keeping a few little ones all for myself.

 

I interpreted "she-monster" as @Littlelotte88 for a second there...

Day 6 of my Pre Turkey Sixer... cool label, awesome name, good beer.

 

Wait... does it seriously cost more to drink on site than to get it to go wherever you got those?

Also, ya know, I see a lot of hate for the new bottles/labels compared to the old, and while I disagree with the format change as a whole, I'm sorry, maybe I'm in the minority, but I love the design of the new bottles and the minimalist-ish "tag" label is actually pretty neat IMO

#VGS! This is quite a bit better than the Infinite Energy from yesterday. Doesn't go down as harsh and has a very nice mouthfeel to it.

 

OK WOJA is on trees and there are buds on the tree right now. I'm waiting for them to blossom into 4 packs.

Regular Jai Alai flows down from the mountains into the stream that runs through my back yard.

Pretty simple. When I sit out by the patio pool bar ill sometimes walk down to the stream. Last year I got a few new dents on the truck from falling 4 packs of WOJA.

 

Wednesday night #VBS, since tomorrow my drinking will be during the day with @valrxman and Friday is my better half's birthday...

Thanks @dwmetsfan13 , apparently rerouted from @Clarkson ...this was really good -- I sometimes forget how much I like boring old oatmeal stouts -- this reminded me a lot of Velvet Merkin (although apparently the increase from 8.4% to 9.1% changes the style to Imperial).
