I know a lot of people who would jump at the chance to enjoy a bottle at GntG with say, a dessert pairing, myself included.

I think it's short sighted to say giving/selling a portion of the beer to one of their close friends for her restaurant takes the beer out of people's hands. I'd even go so far as to say it gives more people a chance at it.

So a brewery sells a bunch of bottles to a bar, who greatly inflates the price and further restricts the access and its how dare they but some random dudes buy bottles, puts them on ebay, greatly inflating the prices and restricting access they are providing beer to people who would not have access otherwise? I must be missing something

Knowing G&TG, it's probably destined for future pairing event(s). The place doesn't have any kind of expensive/rare bottle list for beer. It's an upscale restaurant, not a geek bar like Local Option.

I'm outraged FFF is doing things with their beer that I don't approve of!

The cases were empty this morning, but more came in later in the day. Sorry for the unfortunate timing.

I enjoy people acting like they know everything only to find that they have no clue what they're talking about

Don't really care in general. Anyone who is anyone has already had this beer at least once... twice was more than enough for me.

Dark Lord 2010-2011 cost per bottle including ticket price: Around ($15+$15x4)/(4)= $18.75.

Bottle of random release of barrel aged beer: $35.

I am a fervent supporter of Three Floyds. Will this release be gone in 24 hours? No doubt. However, we are quickly running up against the boundary of reason. One case of Zombie Dust, or two bottles of DL, or one bottle of beer that you haven't tasted before?

I fear the craft beer bubble is coming closer and closer to popping.

You Chicago guys keep this up, and FFF will be able to build a new brewery/restaurant in no time. Unreal. I'd take a case of Zombie Dust or Alpha King long before I'd even consider buying one bottle of beer.

It's these insane releases that make me appreciate New Glarus even more. Similar situation in that the beer being released during GTOM is completely unknown. Although they give the public plenty of forewarning about release times, amounts, and dates, whereas FFF seems to live off the hysteria caused by element of surprise. Oh and one last thing, their beer was $8, which is something I considered high. These last few FFF specialty releases take it to a whole 'nother level. At what price point will people finally say it's too much?

using this thread as a lame source, only 4 people seemed interested in this beer out of 59 messages and only 1 of em is in chicago. also, that case of zombie dust or alpha king you rather buy will still help build that new brewery/restaurant in no time.

hopefully the money i spent to buy sour ales at NG will convince em to make more brewery only releases so us chicago folk can go over there.

Wouldn't be surprised if these don't actually end up at Little Goat since they will have much more of a beer focus (over 20 taps). Although the specialty dinners they do could get some of them. Steph has been ramping up her collab brews with the brewers around town as well.
