I should probably wait until I'm in SD next week to ask, but is there still Brandy Old Numbskull available in the Tasting Room?

 

God damn that Hawaiian on cask...

 

Had Hawaiian and Velvet at the tasting room yesterday. Hawaiian was damn good but Velvet was frickin great.

 

1/3 Velvet + 2/3 Hawaiian

 

Hawaiian speedway stout and barrel aged speedway available for growler fills today!

 

We still have some bottles available. It should last through the week, unless we get a hoard of barrel enthusiasts in the tasting room!

 

Awesome fingers crossed, ill be there sunday to grab my hawaiian bottles.

There are a lot of new employees there. Alesmith has gotten too big to assume any familiar perks any longer.

 

They've always checked ticket numbers from BPT for me.

 

I did the same and assumed my name would be enough. I don't read good.

Was lucky got a hold of person buying for, cuz would have been bummed to go down there and get turned away for that

 

Having Hawaiian Speedway now at Barabras at the brewery

 

kind of off topic but also complaining.. i went to Alesmith on Saturday to pick up my beers, and have some beers. got there right at opening at 11am, thinking i would have the place to myself. when i arrived there was a massive tour bus (the biggest i've ever seen, i'm talking like bigger than a city bus) dropping of a huge beer tour

i think the beer tour thing has gotten out of hand, especially in San Diego. if breweries are going to allow gigantic bus loads of people i almost think they need to be coordinating with the tour companies, and have a separate line ready for them, or something. i'm all for exposing craft beer to more people etc.. but if you can't go to a brewery at 11am without a huge crowd it's starting to become annoying

Funny I went on Sunday expecting a big crowd around 12 and it was dead. I agree I hate beer tours,

 

Most of them are uneducated beer noobs. I remember being at monkish and someone asking what IPA they had lol. Anywho back on topic another Hawaiian speedway before I make my exit.

 

yeah. it's bad enough being in a line. but it's worse when each person has no idea what they want and have to ask a million questions and get a beer 101 lesson from the server. that, or it's just a bunch of drunk bros
