Foe what it's worth, Regal Rye actually produced the lowest yield of all the variants this year. No idea how that translates to MN allocation.

At these type of releases, do you have the option to grab one overall bottle per person, or (if still available) one of each variety? Or more than one each typically?

Based off of previous years pricing, what would these smaller bottles be expected to go for (I understand that rare will be tough to price)

I'm really disappointed in the lack of speculation/insider info bribed from a friend who knows the distributors cousin.

How much rare are we going to get?! Only at the major spots: France 44, Blue Max, South Lyndale, Zipps? Or will a few bottles make their way to some MGM's?

via GI, suggested retail price is $9.99 a bottle. probably see $9.99 - $11.99 on average. wouldn't be surprised to see some gouging at $14.99.

previous years have been four packs and single bottles. this year is only single bottles. if i were to guess, we see places doing 2 bottle limits on the regular and single bottle limits on the rest.

i spoke with two distributors in the local area. one of them told me that the word they were getting was that coffee would be more present/abundant in our market this year. i hope this is true. the other distributor didn't give much insight aside from the fact they were expecting 12 cases of Rare for their distribution.

Did I read somewhere that a case of rare is 6 bottles?

Rochester will see a nice allotment this year again. One location will be getting 264 bottles of reg. Unsure on variants.

I heard that a case is 12 bottles, and that was for all versions, including Regular. If one location in Roch is getting 264 bottles, this stuff will be all over the place. If my calculations are correct for that location, that would be over 15 cases or 93 4 packs of regular in the "old days".

I think the butthurt will come from the people looking to score the varients.

From the rare day event the case was 12 bottles if that helps.

I always take these comments with a grain of salt. Someone also mentioned that Summit only produced 400 cases of Old Blaggard for 400 accounts. That stuff is all over now, so that clearly was not accurate.

There is always the case where a store didn't get as much as they thought. Goose Island doesn't exactly have a reputation for taking care of us in MN with BCS the last few years.

Not that I disagree, but it seems like we also have a large percentage of bottle shops that dont sell their allotments in the twin cities. They hoard it and sell it at future 'cellar sales' (marked up of course). They sell it only at 'special events'. They sell it to only a few select customers and friends. They keep it for themselves and employees.

I'm staying with family near the mpls/st paul area for Thanksgiving, headed up from Chicago. What would you recommend as a good experience to take my dad to? Does any place have a bottle share type atmosphere that's fun to hang out at early in the morning? I can bring ZD, pipeworks, etc to share, but I thought this would be a fun thing for my dad and I to do. Looking forward to hopefully meeting some MN BA's and thanks in advance!

Very true. My point was that we won't know until the stuff actually shows up and then it's going to be a mad dash.

Do you know if they are doing Black Friday this year or still Cyber Monday?

I've heard 264 bottles at one location in Roch, and 300 at a couple others each. Also multiple cases of Rare coming down. Sounds like there will be a glut of the regular and rare down here but none of the other variants from what I have been told by multiple managers. This is all happening Cyber Monday.
Edit: Going to be hard to hold onto a $60 bottle of beer. I'll probably try to trade for the other variants we don't get.
Double Edit: 6 in a case of Rare does make more sense now since I had two stores tell me they were getting 18 bottles.

Why is Rochester doing cyber Monday again? Isn't BCBS getting distributed early this year? The fact that Schott has Friday off shouldn't push it back if that is the case... Anyone know more?

Schott is closed Friday and yes, it is the reason the stores will not be receiving their allotment.

Anybody heard when regular BCBS is getting distributed in the cities? Haven't seen anything posted by any stores. Hoping to snag a few bottles on Friday if possible
