Granted, there are dozens more formats than the choices below...but these are five of the most common and ubiquitous ones you'll often see on the market.

Note for the purposes of this thread, format shall only mean the shape of the bottle, so please disregard color (i.e. whether or not its a clear bottle, brown bottle, green bottle) or other embellishments. Thank you.

    Which ONE is your favorite?

skinny cans... Just kidding, but seriously... but to actually answer your question I guess door number 2 with the "heritage" style, because it's a little different and some of my favorite breweries (SN, Lagunitas) use the stumpy bottle shape. I think cork and cage bottles are awesome because I am generally drinking a out of the ordinary, higher priced treat - but that is few and far between for me these days.

Shane, I will apologize in advance but my preference is a 12 ounce can of beer. The can is a much better choice for a variety of reasons:
    • It is impervious to air (oxygen)
    • It is impervious to light (zero chance of skunking)
    • It is lighter in weight so it minimizes transport costs
I know that you are a fan of the higher profile cans but for me the standard height 12 ounce can is preferred.

    Cheers!

Definitely 12 oz for drinking. I like the 'heritage' style because I'm short and so are they...maybe that's why. I prefer them for homebrewing because they leave marginally less head space. On the topic of homebrewing, I actually love the 500 mL bottles because I brew a lot of sub-4% beers, so it's not too much and it expedites the bottling process. On the whole though, I like the short neck 12 oz bottles.

Talking individual bottles, mine is the 16oz (3) all the way, nice compact shape and perfect size.

Too bad they are only sold individually; that's why I love 4-packs of 16oz. cans more.

Are we factoring in typical pricing/ valuation? if we are, definitely prefer 12 oz bottle, either kind, although i voted for the long neck. Love bombers, hate the crazy mark up on them.

I voted Heritage, but I don't dislike longnecks. Next would have to be Cork&Cage, either the style above or the flanged champagne-style bottles.

I like the stumpy Heritage bottles. But, I'd love to see more of everything in cans for reasons mentioned above.

12oz is best. I have come to terms with the bombers, and 16 oz are fine. But I despise the cork and cage bottles.

Well since 40s aren't an option I'll have to go longneck.

Whatever Anchor uses, it just reminds me of a combination of a beer bottle and a football. I guess it's a variation of #2.

I voted #2, and I'm really not opposed to any format just as long as the beer is good, so I would consider this my preference.

I use any of the above for bottling homebrew. The beer assures me it doesn't care.

So Sixpoint will be bottling beer?

I like the 12oz long neck. Lets me hold the neck and not warm the beer while walking around.

    Enjoy

Bring back diesel in 16oz ........bottles? Add more hops too!

12 oz. But it's less because of functionality and more to do with the fact many brewers price larger formats more per ounce even for the same beer. That said, it's also nice for higher abv beers if I just want to try something without getting too buzzed.

Also, @Sixpoint bring back silos already :|

None of the above. 16oz cans for backcountry friendliness.
