I agree, no way its the bruery, so maybe bottle logic?

 

I don't know if Bottle Logic is that at risk of closing down, they've seem to be raking it in with the releases ever since FO and they just expanded their distribution a bit. I'm thinking Cismontane, it might not be the first place you think about when the potential closing of a brewery could be huge but I think it fits the bill. The brewery has a decent local following from what I've seen, distribution that reaches across and out of state, a second taproom in the middle of nowhere that barely has people and an ambitious plan at distilling spirits.

Although in terms of huge, huge I guess Bootlegger's might better fit the bill since I can't remember any noise/hype coming from the brewery in the last year or two.

since we're discussing unsubstantiated rumors, i heard from someone on the east coast that Founders will sell out (the rest of the company) next month

 

Exactly...... If bootleggers went under we would all be OK in life. Nothing to see here, just move along. I haven't had anything exciting from them in a long time!

 

Sorry to disappoint you, but Bootleggers isn't going anywhere. We just completed $350k+ new 30bbl brewhouse install 5 months ago and added a few new fermentors 2 months ago. We haven't exactly been pumping out whales the last year and a half, but that is one of the sacrifices you have to make as a brewery when you are running at 100% capacity brewing 10k bbls a year on a 7 bbl brewhouse.

 

Folks have to remember that it's not all about the whalez. If Kern River brewed nothing but Citra they would go under so fast because of the time it takes to brew it compared to how much of the other stuff they sell and how fast that is to turn over in production. Much the same, Bootlegger's bread and butter isn't in the knuckle sandwiches, but in those local taps they have and the accounts who love the stuff most BA'ers would scoff at otherwise.

Does Golden Road only pour their standards at the Anaheim tap room, or do they have some one off stuff?

 

Based on their Untappd activity, seems they pour some non-standards, though those might also be found on tap at the original location too. Not sure if any are exclusive to just Anaheim.
