Getting ready to head to the airport and off to FL for a few days. Having a little extra maple with my pancakes this morning.

Found this cool glass Monday.....dig the Santa, so had to drink something festive in it!

That being said, I wish my wife didn't put away my Initech coffee mug when she brought out all the holiday stuff.

Honestly, a little extra time out helps this beer. I get very little flavor when it's cold.

If there was one TV show I ever could have seen being made in person, it would've been the original Muppet Show.

Started with something lite this morning after last nights beers....

 

How's the cigar? Don't smoke 'em myself, but got a three pack for my brother, who usually snags a bottle of Utopias for the holidays.

 

I don't usually like vanilla in my coffee but i'm not minding this one.

 

Good morning BAs! The sun is shining early enough to melt the snow behind my house and the Y wasn't crowded when I was there at 0700 - looks like a good day!

Yesterday's Breakfast Beer:



Horrible! Tasted like alcohol-free Four Roses with alcohol isopropanol added. Had I known, I'd have had it last Saturday for Turkey Beer Day. Although Fascist Pig was very good, this really sucked! However, today's Breakfast Beer, a seven month old IPA, is infinitely better:



@utopiajane - I made Ga Kho Gung for supper last night, combining two different recipes. Mrs Lizard actually ate it, after picking out the ginger slivers. I never told her about the nuoc nam in it although, to me, it was obvious. Next time I'll use breast rather than thigh meat.

 

Another beer from my weekend in Ohio - Dirty Little Freak, a coconut chocolate stout:



From DuClaw Brewing Co., Baltimore, MD. Lots of coconut nose, but taste has a sharp artificial coconut linger. Driving RV back to FL today; will overnight in NC. Cheers!

 

Almost turkey day...time to bust out the brown ales! Will this style ever make a comeback?

 

good morning BA!..my last work day for the week..let's get the holiday weekend going with a little bit o' sunshine!

 

Good morning, all! It's a balmy 24°F here in the Cedar Valley, but I'm not complaining. After hitting 5 below a couple of days ago, this is beach weather! We may have tornadoes and snow up to our whatsis within a week of each other, but at least we don't get hurricanes and mudslides. Do I need any more reasons to celebrate with a (quasi-) local brew? CocO Chocolate Stout, West O Beer, West Okoboji, Iowa.
