Anyone know what a good time would be to get in line at South Lyndale come Friday morning?

Odd since last I checked Hohensteins didn't distribute Goose Island. This is their portfolio http://www.hohensteins.com/#!craft/cw51

Goose is distributed by Original Gravity (AKA Capitol Beverage) and College City in and around the Metro.

Local store just told me $520 for a case of rare. He said he didn't know what others were charging but they would go with the MSRP of $60.

Anytime after me would be fine

I would have to believe 6am would be plenty early. Can't imagine too many people want to freeze their balls off out there overnight. Are we allowed to bottle share in the lot?

Just a thought here, if there are 40,000 bottles of Rare and MN gets just 1%, that would mean that we are getting
It gonna be 15 degrees Friday morning...yep, freeze your balls off.

You either heard or were told wrong. Also, so you all know, we never price gouge (on purpose anyhow). I will leave it at that. Hope to see all of you Friday morning, it should be a blast! Coffee, pastries and great beer for people in line starting around 630 A.M.

    Can we drink in line?

I'm gonna assume yes. I'll bring coffee stout and put it in a starbucks cup if anyone asks. Ok, good talk.

France 44 - 5pm on Friday. First 72 get tickets for 2 bottles of regular. Tickets are handed out at 4:30. Those 72 people get put into a raffle for 12 Regal rye, 12 coffee, and 12 barley wine. After those bottles go, all names are put back in for a drawing for one of 6 bottles of rare.

I'll be right by there in the morning at 9:00am. I'll be curious to see if anyone is waiting already.

I'm sure there will be people that go to F44 at 9:00 or before and aren't happy when they learn they need to come back later. A lot of the same group of people that go to S. Lyndale will probably go over to F44 later to wait in line.

I think Total Wine is a bust unless you only want one bottle. They will have all five variants I was told but you have to pick one TOTAL. Maybe this is the norm. The lady said this was set by Goose Island which I think is possibly false. Would think a two bottle limit is more appropriate. Miss the days when I could buy an entire 4 pack of each variant, that was only two years ago...

Thank you for this, are you allowed to do sharing in the lot? I'm coming from Chicago and I can bring some non local stuff if it's allowed. This will be my first bcbs in MN. Thanks again!

If anyone is thinking of making the drive over to Hudson at the usual spots it sounds like a 1 bottle limit, maybe 2. 1 bottle limit at Chicone's for sure.

Any idea why some stores are not selling BCBS until later in the day Friday? Is it because they won't receive it until sometime later on Friday?

I'm not criticizing it but wonder because I wouldn't think many stores would want people waiting around/lined up at their stores for a possible long period of time during store hours. Friday isn't a work day for many so I can't see wanting to give day shift workers a better chance either.

I think some do it to deter people who just chase trucks and to give more people an opportunity to buy possibly after work. Plus yeah some do get it during the day and not ahead of time.

Some even save it all for events like Beer Geek Christmas at Heritage.

Truck chasers, normal customers, get the beer at 10:30 and do not have time to enter it into the system, have time to have extra staff on hand...I could go on.

To be realistic, it is easiest for them if they do it at an announced time, like 2 or what ever. In reality, many of the stores really hate this day, I spoke to a friend at one today and he groaned about this day. For the most part it is just "beer geeks" coming into the store, buying one bottle and they are off to get the next score. In most cases never to return...until next year when darkness/KBS/BCBS hit again...

From what I understand from talking to a few shops, everyone releasing it this weekend already has it, so there will be no trucks to chase.

Can't vouch for any store in particular but if it was me, I wouldn't want to be getting up in the middle of the night to ensure no one is causing any issues on my or surrounding property. Better to just do it during normal operating hours when I could keep an eye on it.

That's not true. Princetons MG always is one of first to get regular releases and will get delivery on Friday.
