Fully agree - don't care for most bourbon barrel offerings, but BB is great.

There are some outstanding wet hopped beers, but I agree. Overall they seem to be too highly regarded. Must be the fresh/limited aspect coming into play.

Agree with the 4beans. Was really looking forward to them after seeing everybody rave about it. Flavor tasted artificial to me.

I guess none of these are new in 2015, but they are new to me. Does that count?

    Overrated:

Sam Adams Utopias. Tried this at a festival, so didn't get a full pour (whatever that means for a beer of this ABV), but my small pour was uninspiring.

AC Golden Ctayt. GABF gold-medal winner this year, but I should have listened to the BA ratings, which are merely mid-pack.

    Underrated:

Victory Hop Ranch. I like this one a lot more than Dirt Wolf...but I think I'm in the minority.

Andech's Doppelbock. New to me. And delicious.

La Cumbre Malpais Sout. Almost as good as La Cumbre's more well-known IPAs, but much less hype.

The toaster pastry was 5.25 for a 24 oz can here. a 12 oz can, assuming half, would be about 2.63, which is quite normal for a can. I thought it was worth it

overrated: Velvet Merkin, mouthfeel way too thin
underrated: boomsauce, im gonna catch some hate for this one but you gotta have it fresh. And you cannot go in with the mindset that it is in the upper echelon of double ipas. Just drink it!

Overrated - Have to go general here - The root beer trend, and the hot pepper trend - One was enough

    Underrated -
Abita Wrought Iron IPA that was pretty damn tasty the other day
    Brooklyn Brown Ale
    The Shed Profanity Ale

Over rated: None that I've tried this year have been what I would call (over)rated.
Under rated: Summit Saga IPA, Deschutes Jubelale, SN Celebration (I think this should be a 99) but hey, you may think it's too malty for an IPA. I think the balance is phenomenal.

Overrated (by miles) New six packs of Pure Hoppiness. Not even worth 1/2 the rip off price they are charging strictly for the Alpine name, & Founders Breakfast Stout. (the coffee flavors seem married with green chilis... MEH) Porter is better.

Under-rated = Northern Hemesphire Harvest & Jackie O's barrel aged beers.

I appreciate the comment, but I was look specifically for highly-rated and low-rated beers that BA's didn't like and liked, respectively. I don't think the phrases "disappointed" or "pleasantly surprised" give enough of an indication of a beer's perceived worth by the BA community.

    dcotom Grand High Pooh-Bah (6,637) Aug 4, 2014 Iowa

    Pleasantly surprised:
    Bell's Mercury
    GI Matilda
    DFH Noble Rot
    Bitburger Premium Pils
    SA Pumpkin Batch

    Disappointed:
NB Salted Caramel Brownie (no salt, no caramel, no brownie)
Your Father Smelt of Elderberries (no elderberries)
    Hopslam
    Todd the Axe Man
    DFH 90 Minute

Probably most surprised by Pumpkin Batch. I was not expecting the complexity of the flavor and aroma of this. The pumpkin and spices provided a nice complement to the saison character, not overpowering. (rDev +18.3%)
