Gonna ask my sales rep whose getting what in the general area around me, if I can find some coffee I'll gladly work something out if you pull an extra rare
Well as the clock ticks through the night and I find myself not sleeping very well I'm trying to find some way to pass the time, so I figured I would blab a bit on here and then talk about beer. Gonna be at my girlfriend's aunt's place all day spending thanksgiving with the closest I have to family here in Texas. Probably gonna feel a little alienated being a part of someone else's traditions and what not, and I'll definitely be very homesick, but I am and will continue to be thankful for everything that my lovely lady has brought into my life into the last few years. I'm not usually the kind of dude that gets super sentimental about the emotional part of holidays and all that, and I'm sure I'll be back to being a sarcastic bearded flannel-wearing Austinite beer nerd by friday morning (5am or earlier line at HEB is gonna suck), but I thought it would be cool if we took some time to actually go about expressing things we are thankful for in our lives, jobs, relationships, hell even if there's a bottle in your cellar or a beer in your untappd history that you feel particularly thankful about. Please share your lives and hearts with me and each other just as we have all begun (or continued in the case of some of the old vets) to share our beers with each other. At the very least it will give me something to read and smile at. I have just put together a small box, and will have a few more beers to pick up for it this weekend, of nice things I want to share with someone (I'd send everyone a beer but I don't think I have enough boxes/printer paper/shipping money to split this box 30 ways) who shares their life with us and likes this post. I don't want to play favorites or have everyone competing to have the "best thanks," so if you share and like this post I'll enter your name in a random list go from there.
Just a little something to make you laugh And........ Most important I'm greatful for all my friends/family and that I can bring a smile to someone's face today
Crossing over from another thread, I'm most thankful for my family. Getting to spend Thanksgiving with them and hanging out is something I look forward to when the holidays roll around. I'm also thankful for my baby that's on the way with my fiance as well as her being the being my partner that puts up with my habitual drinking ass. I'm thankful for getting rear ended yesterday and then chasing the bastard because he decided to take off and then being forced by the cops to stop chasing and find out that he doesn't have insurance. Not sometjing you're normally thankful for, but I am because we were on our way to a check up and everything came back normal with the baby so that's why I'm thankful. Also being approved for our first home purchase!! Cars can be replaced, money will come and go, houses can be rebuilt, but family can be lost in an instant so I cherish those moments I have with them and look forward to starring my own when our baby comes out sipping on a cheva...and by cheva I mean sipping on a bottle while his daddy sips on some good brews you bastards send! And I'm also thankful for meeting you guys! Even if not face to face, we're all apart of this BIG BA family! Cheers!
I'm especially thankful this year that I still have a job after my company just laid a bunch of people off. It's rough watching a bunch of hardworking people lose their jobs, but makes you all the more grateful that you still have one.
Pleepleus is awesome, I have every episode of Three Sheets on DVD, break them out every now and again and it's still quality educational entertainment.
Awesome stuff! I'm thankful for a lot, but when it comes to BA and BIF-ing I'm thankful for the great people I've interacted with and met through this crazy beer thing we all do. When I moved to Harrisburg to be with my wife I didn't really know anyone here, now I have a great group of friends and that's mostly due to beer and this website. @Doogflaggat (who I met before I was on BA) as well as @PA-Michigander, @ninjembro, @LehighAce06, and @Mipper are just a few of the amazing people I've met through the BIF community and they are some of the best dudes I know.
Just want to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving. And for my target I'm bringing a few good beers back from FL wonder if there might be anything that will end up in your package.
