    Happy Thanksgiving BA
    I'm up at this ungodly hour to get the bird in the oven etc. Can't do that without some kind of beverage. So I went with a classic Founders Breakfast Stout

    I have to keep it low because everyone is asleep, but Van Morrison is keeping me company

    Happy Turkey say Sammy! Who plays tetris/jenga with their freezer every winter. "If I cook the pie I can freeze the rolls . . . now if I could only get it out of there without bringing it all crashing down. " =)

    Winter Cheers! A very pleasant and wow beer for me from last year. I actually waited for this to come back and I was hoping it would. A bright and flavorful wheat beer with a bit of extra abv that has an unexpected but clever and delightful hop presence.

    OK so it's not a tofurkey and that's a good thing. My first no meat thanksgiving is coming up by request.

    Not to get all mushy or anything but I want to thank you all and wish everyone on BA a Happy Thanksgiving. You do feel like family, you treat me like family and I love being here. Cheers!

    Bird update.. Sitting in a dry "brine" .. Looking like a rub to me but yea- hopefully won't be too dry.. It's actually spatchcocked as well.. Removed the back bone (for gravy) and crushed the keel bone and it's still big and plump..
    The bird has been sitting in that rub since Monday night football halftime..
    Edit: it's a simple rub with salt, pepper, sage and allspice

    I went to bed early last night and up early today. Doing some reading about film noir and enjoying a Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th. It's a real nice way to start the day.
