Binnys in Chicago posted their prices. They are as follows...

    Bourbon County Brand Stout
    $9.99
    Bourbon County Brand Barleywine
    $12.99
    Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout
    $12.99
Bourbon County Brand Regal Rye Stout
    $23.99
    Proprietor’s Bourbon County Brand Stout
    $23.99
Goose Island Rare Bourbon County Brand Stout
    $64.99

I don't know how the prices in Denver/CO compare but I figure we can use this as a basis on what to expect.

I tried Regal Rye at Falling Rock and 15. Both were great but the Regal Rye tasted so much like regular bourbon county that I'd swear they mixed up kegs in the back or something.

I had Regal Rye last night at Falling Rock and thought it was stellar. Tastes much different than Regular. They must have given you Regular on accident because Regular has nothing on Regal. Regal tastes like chocolate covered cherries dipped in bourbon. Fantastic beer.

I also did a mini vertical with '14 and '15 the other day and my buddy and I agreed the '15 was better.

It was weird, I watched them pull it right off #9 which is what it was listed as on the board. :slight_frown:

Argonaut had a very solid release this morning. 4 bottles of anything/person, couldn't double up on anything except regular. Free BC snifters, posters and a lb of the Intelligentsia coffee used to make the BCBCS for the first "X" amount of people (I was 15th or so in line and not sure how many people behind me got those freebies). Also, free BC donuts were provided by Voodoo and they were tasty as fuck. Good luck to everyone and once again, thank you Argonaut for a very organized/smooth release.

    P.S.
For what it's worth, they had approx 14 cases of Rare.

Would totally agree! Was 7th in line myself and felt that everything was handled VERY smoothly. The free Bourbon County Voodoo Donuts and coffee that were handed out while we waited were a class touch.

Did hear someone say that they got in 14 cases of Rare as well; but also had someone saying that they only got in 5 cases and then another person stating 7 cases....also, someone from BC was walking the line stating that there would be a 2/person Rare limit. This changed 10min later when an Argonaut Rep stated a single bottle of Rare/person. With all of the differing stories, I chalked the 14 case allocation up to hearsay as it just seemed to be so immensely disproportionate to the single case most stores (i.e. Mile High, etc.) were purportedly getting...

Still, well done on Argonauts part! Great beers and a great group of guys to freeze my ass of with...

Zero hassle or fuss this morning in the Springs, no limit and didn't stand in any line. Walked out with 6 bottles for $65 and I am happy. Sure, I wish we would have at least gotten some of the variants that Denver got, but oh well.

Just a heads up but Argonaut still has Regular, Coffee and Barley left in the back. Talked to the main beer guy and he said they got 5 cases of Regal and 10 cases of Rare. Not sure how many cases of the other 3.

I got the second to last bottle of Rare. I didn't get there until about 7:30 and was surprised that the line was already so long. Kinda wish I had just gone earlier because I ended up standing outside for an hour anyway because the line didn't get to move inside when they opened the doors. If I didn't live 30 miles away, I might try to go back and get some more of the coffee.

For anyone thinking about downtown, I just drove by Mr. B's (who is releasing at 2 pm) and at 12 pm there were already a half-dozen cold looking guys standing out front.

I agree that Argonauts was very easy, though they did run out of the rye well before the rare.

I had made the decision to pass on the rare at $60, only for my wife to pick up a bottle in line right behind me, lol

I did ok today. Still kind of irritated about the bottle limits at Argo when their competitors were allowing more, but I shouldn't complain too bad

Damn son; you are everywhere, lol! Cold wait in line for Rd. 1 and a cold wait in line for Rd. 2..... That's beer hunting like a man

Think a few hours waiting in line at Argo's was enough for this guy! Did happen into a honey hole on the way into the office afterwards for a little more BC Variants to cap this Black Friday off.

    GL!

Which places were allowing more? Everywhere else I went/heard about was allowing the same or less.

Mondo vino would let you at least get the whole run

Argonaut just opted to set limits which ensured everyone who lined up got beer. Mondo Vino gave 12 people the full run, and turned away about 25 people who had waited 30 minutes in line outside. Their call - not judging - but thats how Mondo Vino was able to give some the full run.

No wonder they sold out so fast...

I was 9th in line in Mondo Vino. They ran out of regal 2 people in front of me. So they only had full allocations for 7 people. Pretty weak.
