Anyone verified the blend cigar tapping? Event page on the website just says Bourbon Barrel Release Party Nov 24-25

 

Yes, I just had a glass of Coffee at Blend. They changed their time to 2pm and MacNivens switched to 5pm.

 

Snagged 2 btls/piece at 2 stores in Carmel and then was notified by a friend that Kahn's had no one show up (relatively) and I went there on my way to Imperial Breakfast Magpie release and there were cases available of BCBW and BCBS; so picked up 2 extra bottles.

How I long for the days when BCBS was a year-round shelf-beer. So readily available in the past that my wife once bought me multiple 2007 4-packs (that she bought at our normal go-to store for standard price) as gifts in 2009! Times change...I was pretty displeased to hear guys at Vine and Table discussing their whole case haul from earlier in the morning and waiting in line to snag 2 more bottles...That said, people are inclined to do what they want but, share the love people, come on...

 

Was first in line at Crown on Soutport. I showed up at 6am which was 2 hours too early. My only complaint is that they held Regal back. That's their choice but seeing as 7 people were there at opening at 9 and they advertised Regal on their Twitter, I think they should have sold it.

 

That just sounds like dirty pool...what were they holding off for...Were you able to get coffee?

 

They had Coffee limit 1, so I was ok with that. You had to know someone to get Regal. Guy behind me said he knew a guy working there and he got a bottle, but it had to have your name on it.

 

We had a very small amount of Regal given to us (I believe only one or two cases). Just like any other store, we've got regulars that we like to take care of first for obvious reasons. By the time we had put names down on bottles, pretty much most, if not all, were spoken for. If I knew someone here on BA was going to wait in line at my store (especially coming from Missouri), I would've held one of each for you. But, that's neither here nor there. If you're still in Indy and can get at my store before 1am tonight, I will sell you the one I've got held back for me (also, if you're up for it, I'll open up a bottle of '12-'15 of reg. BCBS to sample).

If I'm still working here next year, just shoot me a message a few days before Black Friday and I will be able to do something for ya.

 

I really appreciate the offer. I'm actually from Indiana, and I was home for Thanksgiving. No hard feelings. I'm totally fine with taking care of regulars, it's a good business practice.

My point was more to the effect that I asked about it and was told that there was none. If I was told it was allocated, I would been fine with it. In any event, thank you for having a very well communicated and smooth release. I'm really just glad I got some of all of the others without the craziness of a huge line!

 

I'm guessing that whoever rang you up probably just didn't want anyone to make some sort of scene. I'm sure someone somewhere out there would be all, "What the fuck?! That's fucking unfair! I waited out there for x amount of hours. I should be guaranteed one of everything," when told one of the variants was all named for, ya know?

But, I'm dead serious. If you're still in Indy, I will sell you the bottle of Regal. I planned eventually to open up the '12-'15 bottles eventually. So, I'll do that as well.

 

Just cracked '12-'15 regular BCBS here at my store (Crown #2). If anyone is in the area, feel free to stop by. Only opening a bottle of each year, so there won't be too much to go around!

 

Man I wish you worked there when I frequented that store a few years ago! Sometimes I had awesome people that would sell me stuff and other times I'd get shut down when I knew they had something. I went in there at least a couple times a week. You're the man for hooking beer advocates up!

 

I believe that Taste Cafe still has regular, Barleywine, and Regal on draft. I know that they already blew Coffee.

Can anyone report on MacNivens or Blend? I believe that MacNivens blew Regal on Friday.

 

I called Blend last night - Coffee and Regal had already blown.

 

Seriously? How is that possible two days later?

That's incorrect. Someone had had a few too many BCBS throughout the day and mistakenly posted online that his Regal Rye was Rare.

If Rare was going to be on anywhere I would have announced it.

 

I'm not sure. Are you in IBTD on Facebook? I just asked Jeff (one of the managers).

 

I assumed that, thanks for clearing that up. And what's IBTD? Is that Indianapolis Craft Beer Deals, Hauls, and Trading? I'm on that, but if there's something else, I don't think I am.
