So I'm sure this gets done all the time but I am pretty excited to have just finished up the DIY Beer Advent Calendar I made for my Brother-in-Law. Putting this together was a labor of love that involved finding gems that would excite while also putting in some hopefully decent beers to lessen the overall cost in the end.

I am no artist but I don't think my bro will mind. All and all I am really happy with how it came out.

Hopefully evil twin xmas eve is for the 24th? What's #1?

Bad ass calendar and really cool of you to put this together. I did. Something similar 2 years ago for my brothers for the 12 days

Now if only my bro-in-law would do some thing like this for me haha

Beer Advents are def an awesome gift!! You went all out on your choices man, Kudos!!!

We offer a hand selected 24 beers in a case off of our MYO-6 wall of over 440 choices with tissue paper for wrapping and it has been a great success. We even had one person email and let me know that mini cupcake foils fit the tops of the beers and that regular cupcake foils fit the cans to keep them from peeking at the tell tale caps!!

Doh! Now I have to go make a switch real quick. you'd think that would have been obvious! The last beer he opens will be the aged Wet Willy Scotch Ale from New England Brewing Company. Being from CT NEBCO is one of our favorite breweries and I know he's never seen a bottle much less an aged one.

That is awesome! Did you attach a story about the origin of the beer for him to read before opening each beer?

Oh good idea. It's a little too late for that now but next time I do one of these that'll be an awesome way to make it even better.

Damn....more good ideas. I'm starting to think I should have made a post prior to making this. Ha.
Also a store doing this for it's customers is a genius service.

How do you feel about being a step dad my 14 yr/old niece? Worth it?

That's a great gift and a fine selection of beers, @cjelden.

Also: "Hop Suplex" is a pretty fantastic name for a beer. Nice one.

That is a rock solid group of beers. I was not as giving as you because I only made myself a beer advent calendar this year. It is my first time to make one. I put mine in a random order to make it a bit of a surprise even though I know the bottle list.

That's what my wife gave me for Christmas this year. They're all winter/Christmas seasonals. Great idea.

This will be the fourth year now that 11 of my friends and I do this. Every person gets assigned 2 days and a person for Christmas Day. Needless to say, I am quite excited for tomorrow.

I saw a beer advent calendar at Costco the other day! It was all German beers. Cool idea!

I don't remember exactly what it looked like, but I think this may be the company responsible:

Awesome idea, I have done a "beer countdown" the past two years where I have a different beer each day from Dec. 1st to 31st as a countdown to the New Year. I've never thought about packaging something up like this though. Kudos.
